In the midst of floyd vs ortiz & bhop vs bad chad I think the discussion needs to be had for the health of boxing. Fight by fight the flaws of boxing continue to be exposed.

    - Fights that shouldn't be ppvs (hop vs chad)
    - bone headed fighters (ortiz vs floyd)
    - poor officiating (pwill vs lara)
    - great fights that aren't getting made (floyd vs pac - ortiz vs berto 2 / kahn vs berto - berto vs cotto - martinez vs cotto/margarito)

fight by fight I feel we are seeing the worst side of boxing and the sport isn't helping its self out one bit. It's just a shame to me because boxing is sticking to its old format and it really isn't helping itself out all while MMA is using a new format and it seems to be kicking ass

    just my 2 cents

For boxing to change, upper management needs to change....

There needs to be one belt per weight class, less weight classes...ect.... But nothing will happen

I'd pay to see more super 6 type tourneys at other weight classes.

But precautions need to be made so that **** doesn't happen to cause delays etc etc.

Boxing- possibility of good long 10 round slugests back and forth punching for long fights

MMA- explosive ends exciting finishes, varied fights with lots of different aspects

    problems

Boxing- chance of long boring matches, one sided long outclassings

MMA- fights may end way too quick not much good punch trading as in many fights there are less than 20 strikes a round and guys get KOd by the first good shot, also sometimes submissions **** me off when a fight gets good, also some refs never stand up moments when two guys just lay on eachother

The problems with boxing is as follows: Arum, GBP, shitty judges and refs. Because of them, the laymen are flocking to MMA.

In MMA, Kimbo Slice was the the center of attention for the UFC's reality show and he also landed a fight against a HOF'er and one of the UFC's best ever.

In boxing, he wont even sniff the top 50.

    Nuff said...

Who the **** did Kimbo fight in the hall of fame? And none of the people that Kimbo ever fought could be described as the best at anything ever. Except for maybe Tank Abbott who was the best at showing up to fight while drunk.

Explosive and exciting finishes often lead to a fight ending quickly.. You don't appreciate submissions and joint lock because your not balls deep in the sport like some of us, and you wouldn't know what fighters were attempting to do on the ground if you paid close attention to the commentators.

Why are you boxing fans coming here to talk about your problems? Take that back to the general or post this in the lounge.

    One major belt one title.

Easier to follow, more control over the product and boxing still continues to do nothing for itself.

Can you imagine what Dana White would have said about Hopkins loosing his belt in that fashion?

I love boxing as the pinacle of sports, but it has the most disorganised hopeless fracture "organisation" ever.

If it wasn't for some of the fighters in the OP, the sport would be dead.
