Yeh Don King really gave you value for yer $$$ & some did'nt he:yep I enjoyed the Tyson/Holyfield I which also had Moorer/Botha & Akinwande/Zolkin....WBA/IBF/WBO Heavyweight championships + Christie Martin bashing the **** out of some other women, not my cup of tea that, but seeing i was at the MGM i sucked it all up big time. I doubt you'll ever get a heavyweight line-up like that again & all thanks to the DON
That card was awesome. I have the fight poster. I think every favorite lost on the original card so it was a natural to do it again.
I think sometimes that bill gets a bit underexposed, it is a cliche; it made Tua... At the time, the huge news was Wilson beating the hugely hyped Briggs; and now the only Heavyweight hope was Michael Grant. But with hindsight it showed up Golota for the bully he was (the head butting in this instance). Tua beating Ruiz was good, but at the time Ruiz looked very ordinary, we did not realize how good a chin he had, and thus how impressive Tua's win actually was.
