Can this guy even make weight in so little time? And at what weight will it be? 160 or 168?

    Weight is at 174lbs.
He has had plenty of notice to make weight.

No doubt this guy is a bum and does nothing more then give Miranda a win. But without interest from TV, he needs to keep busy. Hopefully the Jan fight will be a decent name fighter that would do something for his career. Gotta wait and see.

Miranda's record says he always loses to name fighters. He's 0-3 against quality opposition.

No doubt. You cant change the facts.
1 loss was questionable, but the rematch is what counts.

As long as he keeps the same trainer, I will not feel confident he will ever beat a top name fighter. But I will be a fan either way. Just like his style.

Its the way boxing works. Any HBO/SHO time fighter that comes off a disappointing loss, that had not already had 1-2 good wins in his resume, ends up needing a bull**** fight to build his record.

The networks want the wins to give high ranked fighters another shot. They need it to sell the fight to their audience. Sure, Taylor, Kelly, Cotto, those kind of guys can jump right back on the network in a decent fight. Miranda never had the big win. He is on the B side until he gets it. So, laugh all you want. This is what boxing is at Miranda's level.

Hey, nothing wrong with being a fan with a guy who isnt the best. Or even just a decent fighter. I was a Miranda fan before the Sam Reese fight. Back before anyone on this board knew who he was. He went pretty damn far and made a name for himself. And he is till considered a top 5 SMW by some rankings. Who knows, maybe he will win a big one someday and grab a belt.

Almost everyone on this board jumps on a hype train and becomes a fan that way. Nothing wrong with that either, but they are usually not true fans. They jump off just as quick.

I will always be a Miranda fan. I may not jump on these boards and hype him anymore. I have been let down. I have become realistic. But I am no less of a fan.

And the reaon I jump all over Pavlik is because of these hype train fans. Hey, if you were a fan before the Miranda fight, and especially even earlier. I respect that a lot. There were only a handfull on this site. After that they came in scores and talked all kinds of crazy ****. Hell, there were people with less than 10 posts giving me **** for being a Miranda fan. Those are the people I am thrilled to see get a lesson in 'boxing' life as their all mighty Pavlik too a loss, and an assbeating at that.

Fair enough and i understand that, but there is coming back after a loss and taking an easy fight, and then there is coming back after a loss and taking a ridiculous fight. This fight falls under the latter.

True, I dont disagree. BUT, here again it is how boxing works. Since this is a non TV fight, and not even a main event, there is no money for the opponent. Hell, there is no money for anyone. So to try to find that perfect opponent that is willing to fight for next to nothing is hard to find. You are beeing thrown in to take a loss against a guy who has great power (at least against the lower tier guys). The opponent doesnt even get to be on any kind of TV worth while.

So, Yes. I wish it were a better opponent that does something for Miranda's record. But under the circumstances this is all he can get. Since there is talk of a decent fight in Jan, he is taking this fight to keep busy and get that W on his record for the networks. You gonna take what you get get!

Like i said mate i understand where you're coming from and i do understand how it works, but you can't tell me that this is the best guy that they could find for him. He hasn't fought in over 8 years for god sake and he's lost an MD to Reggie Strickland of all people. Even with the limited funds, im pretty sure, infact i am sure that they could of found him a better opponent. Im not asking for no world beater, or even a fringe contender, but this fight is a joke.
