I've seen Miguel fight 5 times, and he's my favourite fighter in all of boxing at the moment, but one thing he is not is slick.
You know what, i disagree with you. Now ive only seen him in the Antilion fight, but the way he picked him apart in it reeked of slickness to me.
Cheers lad:good genuinely not sure on who im betting on, the general consensus on here seems to be on Acosta? What you think? I see sporting index have the fight 10/11 a piece now, wonder how the casinos will price it up.:think http://sports.betfair.com/?rfr=63&mi=102306042&ex=1
Just because he can pick an opponent off and is quick doesn't equate to slickness. He doesn't make the transition from offence to defence in the way slick fighters do nor does he incorperate a shoulder roll. He has many facets to his game, being slick ain't one of them.
In the build up to the fight (day time) get your ass to the Wet Republic (MGM) and sink a few bud lights , while admiring the many many great veiws , who incidentally love our British accents :good Have a good 1 mate !!
The winner of Acosta/Rios is obliged to meet the Soto/Antillion winner. If Acosta wins those fights he plans on having a Venezuelan superfight with Linares.
Interesting .................. , should this happen you'd have to think Marquez would be in play round about the time Acosta Linares is in play , would a Marquez fight not sway him ??
Possibly. But a Linares fight has been brewing, and it would be huge in Venezuela. Linares was ringside for Acosta's fight with Cordoba and was in the ring with him after, posing for pics. They're quite friendly with each other, but both have said they'd love the fight at some point. I'm not sure if Marquez would fight Acosta at this stage of his career anyway, he's coming towards the end, and wants only legacy enhancing fights now(which is understandable), and Aguacerito doesn't really offer that.
Thats a very fair point , after the inevitable beating he takes from Manny @47 that could be him , interesting concept on Acosta / Linares though , thanks for the input :good
It would more than likely be on in Venezuela from what I understand, so maybe Teiken would do the promotional work there, seeing as they still work with Linares. I'm not 100%, but both have definitelly said if/when they fight they want it in Venezuela, so I dont know if GBP would have any major involvement.
:good:good Depends on your definition of being slick I suppose. I associate 'slick' with skills and movement No biggie.
