Why do people think this is out of the relm of possibility? Rios could beat Khan by UD by knocking him down and outworking him down the stretch being the aggressor while Khan is just trying to hand on. Rios is a great inside fighter and he would get inside on Kahn who can't fight on the inside. It's easy to see.:deal

I love Rios. I like his style and his bravado. BTW Rios is light years more talented than Margo who is there to be hit. Atleast Rios uses head movement, presents a guard and tries to slip punches on the way in and is adept at fighting all styles.

    shiiiit i agree:-(

rios is more compact and actually knows how to throw a punch with technique unlike margos wirlwind looping punches but still its a similar style.

I think a potental fight between the two would be a close affiar for the first 4 rounds with Rios being the more active fighter and Khan being the more classy. Rios would bag a couple of rounds early by closing the ring off and getting clusters of punches off a on a defensive Khan. Khan will then begin to find the room around the third or fourth and will start popping the advancing Rios with hard accurate jabs mixed with speedy combos. At this point the fight will have the odd skirmishes of trading between the two mixed with Khan trying to outbox Rios. By the 6th and 7th round i feel Khan will have gained a stranglehold over the match and will be keeping the fight long whilst mixing in the body attacks, these attacks will begin to see Rios wilt and stopped around the 9th or 10th after a barrage of unanswered shots.

    Thoughts:think

both fighters have too many flaws for this not to be a great fight.

The only possible argument I could make for Rios is a win by KO due to Khans dodgey whiskers (but you could make that case for any decent fighter against Khan).:deal

Other than that it shouldnt really even be up for debate.
The Rios hype train has already spiralled out of control.

a few of us (gimp c included) have actually been fans of rios even before saturday night.

fights are never won on paper on paper cotto was supposed to beat margo, oscar was supposed to beat pac, margo was supposed to destroy mosley.... you get the picture.

    Yep I do,
That being said Rios so far has not done anything including a hard fought win over Acosta sat night to suggest he is remotely near Khans level yet.
I'm not saying Rios is a hype job but he is certainly being overhyped at the moment.
He may well turn out to be top drawer but he needs a few more good wins against quality opponents before this hype can be justified IMO :deal

Khan's style is all wrong for Rios.

And who said Khan is feather-fisted? FEATHER-FISTED?

    khans level?

khan lost 4-5 rounds against maidana, people act as if it was a washout.

rios may not have khans speed or reflexes but if khan cant put away rios in the first rounds rios will steamroll over him. Khan starts strong ends weak while rios starts slow and ends strong. Nobody fights cruder than maidana not even rios. I see it as a 50-50 fight.

True, but what has Rios done yet to make you think he's as good as Maidana?
