A.J was fading and Takam was starting to land powerful right hands and left hooks the last couple rounds.

The ref panicked and stopped the fight. The last thing they wanted was for A.J to get rocked like the light punching Dylan Whyte did to A.J but in a deeply tired state late in a fight.

Agreed, but I'm sure McCracken will see this (his weight) and have it corrected. He just hasn't got the frame for 18 stone +, and his arms are just too big to let go for 12 in a hard fight. He needs to shed best part of a stone against someone like Povetkin or hes getting took out once he tires !

1, Yes Takam is brave and I as well as many others knew how tough he is from what he did in Povetkin fight
2, Stoppage was too early and ref seemed a bit biased a lot of night for me
3, has his stock really gone up? All he did was take shots. Did braezelles stock go up lots from just taking shots from AJ?
4, I hope this is a dig at those talking nonsense bout Joshua would beat ppl like Lennox etc. Joshua is the top HW atm regardless of how bad his stamina is, it's just a rubbish HW division and he's beat the best, so yea he is good but it's a case of good timing as well for him

It was a awful stoppage, but Joshua did drop him in the early rounds, so its not a question of whether Takam would have been able to withstand the onslaught before it was stopped. The headbutt in the early rounds, concussed Joshua, and he simply looked dazed through the rest of the fight. Takam fought very defensive early on, a little more agression like the Parker and Povetkin fights would have seen him stopped earlier. He couldn't trade with Joshua, and he took the right gameplan against the tiring bodybuilder, to try and stop him late. Would like to see Joshua rematch him, and get the comprehensive win though, that referee should have waited for the knockdown.

What i take away is that Joshua still does not get the fact he needs to lose the muscle mass in order to improve his stamina.

I don't think Joshua's size is such a massive hurdle as was once supposed. I do think there are certain size limits, beneath which a fighter's chances drop dramatically, but provided you have enough natural size, strength and resilience to withstand Joshua's baseline attacks then you already have a firm foundation on which to build a winning game plan.

    1, 2. Yes, fully agreed.
    3. Yes, because he kept trying and showed heart. Takam was still throwing shots, trying to win the fight. Breazeale was just trying to survive. Compare his effort to Helenius in the co-main event.
    4. Yes, that was for the people saying Joshua would steamroll every other HW in history. He is still the top HW fight now as I've consistently stated.
