    Just to clarify:

The suspension will be cut to 6 months if Canelo cooperates with the NSAC. This would allow Canrlo to fight in September as it's dated back to the last failed test.

However, up till now Canelo has refused to communicate with NSAC. Rumor has it that he's angry that they dare to suspend him, unlike the WBC which proclaimed him innocent without an investigation. This is why the NSAC have filed for a year's suspension.

I suspect that Canelo's apologies today may mean that he's finally realized that it's in his best interests to cooperate and accept the NSAC suspension which would certainly (if he cooperates) be reduced to six months. Once again, rumour states that Canelo's team have been trying to get him to this stage but he has been stubborn.

What breach of contract? You think Canelo's lawyers would overlook the possibility of a failed test?

That's fine.. My question was why do the OP care.. If Canelo lose money or GGG win all the money doesn't affect boxing.. I asked is he a boxing fan or a GGG financial fan...

Why care? Well, this is a boxing board to discuss various topics. And this current topic w/ canelo is pretty big.

If they wrote in drug testing then there is a more than likely a penalty clause for failing the drug test. Why TF would you put drug testing in if the result is a cancelled fight and no compensation.

So far no word yet on what was in the contract for the drug test. Would be really interesting if there was no compensation.

In 2009 Floyd Mayweather challenged Manny Pacqiao to a fight so as long as he submitted to Olympic Style Drug testing. Manny Pacquiao refused to submit to randon drug testing and he and his team came up with over two dozen excuses why they would not fight Mayweather.

Manny Pacquiao and his team responded with the following:

    1. I am terrified of needles
    2. Drug tests weaken me
    3. I need a 14 day cut off time for drug testing
4 . Floyd cannot demand OSDT
    5. I don't even know what is a steroid? -Manny Pacquiao

    For me personally I’ve
    never really been able to
    get into this rematch,
    because to me it’s always
    felt a little forced, strictly
    for economic reasons, and
    because I thought GGG
    won the first fight clearly.

Manny Refused random drug testing, that is why. Flat out refused.

Now just imagine the outrage today if a fighter refused random testing when his opponent is demanding that they BOTH do random testing. Just use a little logic here buddy.

NSAC is just covering their ass. They are willing to throw 1 Canelo PPV under the bus to save dozens of future PPVs they want to secure in the next 5-7 years.

It's called tending for your own existence and reputation, they don't give a **** about Golovkin or doing the right thing for boxing.

Really, dude? You're citing IVoyd IVayweather?

    1) No one has ever produced an attributed an actual quote to Manny saying he was afraid of needles.
    2) Manny said in a 2005 video, 5 years before the Mayweather fight negotiation, that he felt weakened from having to give blood very close to the fight. In 2005 he said this.
    3) See reason 2. Athletes benefit from juicing before the fight, not 2 weeks before.
    4) Floyd himself has NEVER done Olympic Style Drug Testing. Ever. Oh, and who received 750 ml of IV fluids? 14X the allowable limit?
    5) Why's that so hard to believe? For more than 10 years, his regular lines before and after every fight have been:
    • It's up to my promoter.
    • I'm train hard and in 100% condition.
    • I'm juss doing mah jab. Nothing personal.

I understood your point, IsaL. Tbh, I was just taking a playful jab you. I absolutely believe that Manny and Floyd were so loaded with PEDs that even Brock Lesnar told them they looked too obvious.
Unlike a lot of others, I really don’t blame anyone, let alone pro athletes, for taking PEDs - the stakes are too high not to take them. Telling fighters not to take PEDs is like telling teenage boys not to jack off. Good luck on stopping either.

Agreeing to unlimited blood/urine w/ a cut off window 2 weeks BEFORE the fight is flat out refusing?

NO WONDER YOU THINK CANELO IS CLEAN. You're a ree ree!
