Ortiz I was a commendable, albeit much overdue step up from the "champion", I gave Wilder credit for that win. Ortiz II is an embarrassing backwards step to a never-has-been whose deflated boogieman status has continued to be artificially pumped up by PBC, all so Wilder can avoid AJ. This isn't a terrible fight, but it sure as hell is a meaningless one, and the fact it's announced before AJ/Ruiz is even done should have every boxing fan seething at Finkel's/LDB's clear lack of effort in making the unification.

Hearn's response to Wilder/Ortiz II

 

I know people ain’t happy and I get it but if I said to you back after bermane rematch that wilder would go on to face Ortiz then fury then breazeale then Ortiz again would you really be complaining or even believe me after the level of opposition wilder had fought before.

 

How is he shot? He dominated the last 3 guys that he fought.

 

So Ortiz would have been a good fight for AJ but sucks for Wilder...got it.

 

When is Mueller releasing his report on Wilder?

 

At least AJ didn't fight him already and KOed him brutally.

 

Man...this whole "the fans demand"/"the fans should expect" more from Wilder, where the hell where ya'll when they tried to make the AJ fight, were begging for the fight? Ohhhh, that's right we were talking about AJ does what he wants, on his time, he's got all the power, look at the stadiums, look at all the money etc. Now all of the sudden, it's Wilder's responsibility to make the fight, GTFOH with this BS. This fight could have already been made, Hearn tried to sh!t on Wilder and his team and so they went a different direction, they don't owe AJ anything...they don't owe Hearn anything. I wanted the fight back then and got told repeatedly that we could take the backseat, wait til AJ's ready, he'll dictate the terms, blah blah blah. My, my how the tone has changed. I hope the fight happens tomorrow...but the faux outrage from one side is hilarious in it's hypocrisy.

 

Ortiz is one of the 4-5 best HW's in boxing, anyone fighting him isn't getting a light touch or making a "**** fight"...that's all I'm saying.

 

The HW division is in shambles. This isn't a bad fight on its fact, but it's terrible when the big three aren't fighting each other.

 

That's only because the division is terrible.
Top fighters have no one to fight except each other.

 

I like Hearn but his face expression in that thumbnail is just irritating and over the top.

 

That old man would beat most of these HW fighters today.
