I dont think he deserves the fight now, I agree, But if Froch loses against Ward, and Magee managed to beat the winner of the fight for the vacant ordinary belt, I would consider it an ok match up then.

He is over the hill. Froch beat Magee when Froch wasn't near his prime. He is a different animal now. He would get badly stopped by Froch again.

You should really watch fights before you comment on them, instead of assuming what happened.

I think the Groves camp really need to go for this fight. It's a great option now that DeGale is fighting for the European. In fact, apart from British \ Commonwealth defences, Groves has little other option.

I was at the first fight and it doesn't need to happen again. It was pretty competitive but when Froch moved up a gear Magee couldnt live with him

  6. Froch would beat magee at this time, and easier than the first time. The first fight was good and competitive but froch has grown so much as a fighter, whereas Magee has kind of stood still in terms of progress. This isn't a slight on Magee as he's a more than capable fighter. Unfortunately just not on the level of froch

If Froch loses against Ward, which he may well do then what next?

If a bigger name falls through or he needs an easy/easier opponent then Magee would be perfect & probably better than DeGale/Groves at the mo

The build-up on here would be quality

Froch isn't really on the cards. Let Magee get one decent fight in Belfast then Degale is a natural. Big pay day for Paul and a chance to place James in the elite.

Froch, Ward, Bute elite top 10 p4p fighters

Tough on Magee, needs some classy wins before stepping up again. Degale or Groves would be great.

After Froch, does he want a rematch with Bute as well?

  11. exactly

this is pretty similar to froch wanting calzaghe around the time joe was earning millions fighting hop/jones in the US while froch was fighing bums in leisure centres

wont happen....even if froch gets an absolute pasting by ward he wont jump so far down for a fight with a second/third tier level super middleweight

To be fair Magee looked pretty badly hurt when Froch landed the uppercut in the 11th...he was down for quite a while IIRC

May as well give it a shout, you never know...a few fights have been made on the basis of just winding the higher-ranked person up so much they just want to smack you around.

Pretty unlikely though, and I doubt it'd be much of a contest.

pretty pointless fight, Froch beat Magee way before Froch reached his prime, he would destroy him in a second fight and the first fight wasn't exactly a barn burner was it lol
