I ain't watched Saldivar for a while, and had kinda' forgot how good he was. Tin Ribs gave a good breakdown of him, and I felt implored to revisit him and remember why he was so great.

Vicente Saldivar Vs Mitsunori Seki 1

Two straight up southpaws fight for the ATG Mexicans World Featherweight title. Seki was a very capable operator who had a solid dig in either hand, demonstrated with an early knockdown of the champ here, and a short right uppercut that buckles him moments later. Saldivar, as always, picks the pace up and lands the much better shots after gaining the respect of the Jap', beating him to a knee and outpointing him with consistent workrate and solid shots throughout. Look for the champs looping right hand lead hook, which he fits in nicely once he gauges Seki's patterns.
