Well i doubt Khan can comeback. But anyone who questions Froch is a morron. He is left #6 P4P and well deserved, only american ahead of Froch is Ward & Mayweather, no shame there.
Haye, Khan at his best (remains to be seen where he is exactly now) and Froch without a doubt are world class. You don't need to be the number one in your weight class to be world class. They are not elite pound for pound talents but if they are not world class then there is only about 2 fighters in each weight class who are.
NO it's NOT! British Boxing has a rich & fabulous history, with GREAT fighters who ruled and some even greater who didn't, especially from the Golden Era. the problem IS British attitudes! Arrogant, Cheeky (insulting), never wrong and can't lose (extremely poor losers), and a history of CHEETING to try maintain that. THIS is what's wrong with British Boxing, and because of it they pay for their sin. But as first stated, there are a couple of hundred True GREAT fighters from these shores both known and unknown who are/were fit for ANY of their contemporaries in the sports history!!!
The best prospect of the bunch is of course an Irishman and the english laugh when they say Ireland tries to claim everybody Is Andy Murray back to being Scottish now that he got trounced at the US Open? :deal
We had some exceptional talents at the top the game, who compare more than favourable with this era, but we have had no where near the overall depth of talent we have in this era.
Of course not; Feeney was a tough honest pro, but Burns at least is on the fringes of world class. He would outpoint Feeney most times out of ten.
I'm not so sure about that. The world picture has changed quite a lot, the quality in the American continents has dipped and I'm not sure that void has been adequatedly filled by the rise of eastern europe ..... and Britain might have benefitted from that. Also, there are dozens more world titles available. And even domestic-level fighters get some fat paydays and publicity these days. We had some solid domestic fighters 30 - 40 years ago, with solid skills and experience, fighting good 15-rounders for British titles. Guys like Tony Sibson would definitely hold world titles these days.
Murray is British yes..When he wins. And if you want to get technical, no, Frampton isn't British, didn't you listen to the great Putin? Britain is an island nobody listens to..is Frampton from that island? I think you'll find he isn't and anyway, calm the **** down mate I was only having a laugh, you act like I'm constantly coming out with anti english ****, are you getting me confused with somebody else? I have nothing against english people. The British government? well that's another story, but I don't wanna get political
Khan hasn't fought anybody even close to the skill level of Ward. Khan boxes like a complete ****** most of the time.
But the likes of Sibson were world class. It is the fighters below that level that add depth to British boxing. The government has invested in the amateur programme for the Olympics and the pro game has benefitted greatly from that.
