Liam Smith vs Liam Williams 1 and 2

First fight Smith wins by come from behind headbutt, which somehow was seen as legit by some. And the rematch was close but most scored it for Williams by 2 rounds, while these were the judges scores...
McDonnell 114-114 (legit card), Parris 112-116 (seriously?), Edwards 111-117 (GTFOH!)

115-111 was a terrible scorecard from Rochin. No way any competent Judge can score that 115-111 to Wilder.

    absolutely no chance.

are we forgetting that Williams was head butting all fight?
The second fight wasn’t even close. Smith schooled him. Not even close to a robbery whatsoever.

Good call. I remember that fight and was the first time i've genuinely been angry after a boxing match. Reid was all over the highly protected German.

I agree with that one but it wouldn't of changed the end result had he gave it by one rd. That particular judges scorecard was bad but Phil Edwards had it a draw the overall result wasn't a robbery imo.

I don't know why this isn't talked about more. A lot of people call it as Smith battering Williams which just wasn't the case.

Pretty sure Williams and Lockett both conceded Smith won the rematch.

I thought Smith dealt with him conclusively in the rematch. I had it 8-4 I think on memory.

I think if Wallin had that cut he’d have been taking a pasting but I get your point. He wasn’t in with Lennox Lewis though and it would have been a travesty had it been stopped.

The first fight Williams was schooling Smith until the strange ending. Second fight Liam Smith switched it up and won comfortably. I struggle to see how anyone can have Williams winning that fight.

Zach Parker vs Darryl Williams is a good shout!.

All this debate tells me one thing.... scoring is subjective and there is no factual answer.... end of discussion #threadover

We all got to see that, Reid was very unlucky, but another one not many saw and was meant to be absolutely atrocious was Nelson/RodriguesI; one judge scored it 120/119 to the Brazilian in their split decision win. The rematch was not meant to be any better...

Always thought Kov vs Cleverly would have been on this list if it gone the distance, I remember Terry O'Connor helping Clev back to his corner after being knocked down and thinking they are really doing everything to help him, I bet the judges had their cards already filled out. Luckily for Kov he was way too much and took him out of early.

Have to disagree, there was nothing wrong with the result in the rematch - Liam Smith was a deserved winner.

Also, in regard to a few other fights being mentioned... some people need to realise the difference between a close fight that could have gone either way to a fighter being 'robbed'.
