I feel the BBBofC shouldn't be assigning a referee who is also judging the fight to be involved when he is from the home town of one of the boxers. It seems utterly nonsensical and opens the referee up to accusations of bias even he knows he has been completely impartial.

I also feel Howard Foster was too eager in stopping Murray-Thaxton. I was at the fight and there was a real bear pit, pro Murray crowd - very little, if any support for Thaxton could be heard, but I felt there was no way Foster would have stopped the fight in front of a pro-Thaxton crowd back in Norwich.

I'd like to know how hard it is to become a ref?

I mean football you got to have a level of fitness as well. I know we slag them off left right centre but least there in some sort of shape. Some of these ref's are awful...i mean there's one i can't remember his name black guy who is like a Michelin man. Anyone know who i'm on about he ref'd the Sexton-Robinson fight other week.

Some of them look so disinterested in the fights there ref'ing at times...they look hungry and tired.

I like Davis, I don't think he's as bad as the others.

    O'Conner is ****.

We're all congratulating Victor Loughran for the way he handed last night's fight, but what if we'd woken up this morning to the news that Sam Web had collapsed and was in a coma? I would much rather a hundred fights be ruined by a 'bull**** stoppage' than one fighter die. I don't think boxing in any recognisable form would survive another fatality.

i think the fact that this didnt happen to webb is a credit to loughlan.

100 bull**** stoppages would lose so many fans, i could well stop watching it

What if....he...like many fighters across the world last night had a corner that knew him better than the ref does......as we all would presume.

Could i question his corner .......if such a tragedy happened ?

Slightly dissapointed with Ian John Lewis in the Bhop-Pascal fight. I thought he made a few mistakes. Pascal was doing a lot of rabbit punching, but thankfully BHop didn't make too much of it as he usually does. Although having said that it was a bit nasty on the inside and difficult with both fighters clinching and playing dirty.

at least there wasn't a major embarressment from a british perspective.

Can overlook the knockdowns as he even bernard said they were more like slips from pascal.

Yep the stupid ring ad's are not needed. Doesn't make ref's life any easier and spoils fights and are dangerous.

Ian needs to calm down when he's doing big fights. His voice don't help him either.
