I also love how Inzi was such a cool head under pressure. On the big stages, at the world cup, big moments in tests, he always came good. That's a sign of greatness, not like Ian Bell wilting like a fairy. And wow..once he got in he made it count with big scores.

Athers was the toughest England cricketer of his generation. He was kinda undermined as captain by that dickhead chairman of selectors Ray Illingworth, who decided it would be a good idea to leave his best three quicks out of the 1994/5 tour to Australia (Fraser, Malcolm and Caddick) and take a green Gough (who excelled, before being axed crazily) McCague (who) and a faded DeFreitas....... He was the prized wicket for the opposition..... his 185* against the Saffies in 1996 was epic, all two days of it, as was his key 125 against Pakistan in 2000 - leading to their first loss ever in Karachi. Nasser was my fave though - loved that guy. He deserves a lot of credit for the success Vaughan had as captain :deal

Prob not, just one of the best of my era watching cricket. I used to ****ing hate when Pakistan were 3 down for not many and Inzi comes in, you know in that situation he'll score a century. Great counter-attacker.
Hmmmmm..... I can't get him in. As awesome as he could be at times, I prefer the consistency of Ponting and Tendulkar, allied to the toughness of Steve Waugh....... Lara sometimes looked like he was batting to the fields he wanted, but had several runs of low scores, and his character is questionable, to say the least :good
Ponting over Lara? Lara was a magician, genius. Him and Tendulkar were on another level in their day. I could watch Lara's backlift then cut stroke all day.
Yeah, Ponting over Lara, IMO of course. I prefer consistency..... Lara sometimes looked disinterested and not really 'up for it' - I agree though he was a genius. Each to their own, I'm a Ponting nuthugger, always have been :good
