I know there's plenty of talk about referee's and judges especially this weekend with regards to Dodgy Dave's scorecard in Bellew fight. Anyways i felt this thread was worth making to ask the following questions... Are the British Officials Overworked? and thus having more and more poor performances due to heavy schedules during season?. Small scene with lots of shows being put on most weeks?. Old Pals Act? The lack of punishment handed out due to poor refereeing or terrible scorecards having this negative effect?. Where on earth are the young up and coming officials that football have had come through recently?. And would you be interested in becoming a official? ...

Yeah totally agree mate, Tbh when i heard Parris name read out i knew it was gonna be a stinker of a card. It's embarrassing now..
Thats why they have 3 judges....;O) Maybe theres a case for keeping a record of which judges are the odd man out on SDs or consistently wide of the mark compared with the other 2 judges they've officiated with.?
It needs a shake-up IMO. Call it the old pals act or whatever you like, but how many times do you watch a fight, knowing, that a certain Boxer will get preferential treatment? Also, take Appleby's loss to Laryea, .... it was disgusting that the Hungarian judge gave that to Appleby, clearly foul-play there IMO. And I'm a Scot who wanted Appleby to win that fight. Early TKO stoppages for house fighters are prevalent as well. It leaves a bad taste.
I'd be happy with that or anything that monitors poor displays. When i manage my team on Saturdays i have a match card and at bottom i can give ref's a mark out of 100. I dunno what it's like in Boxing..
What I don't buy Mand is officials being called poor judges just because they disagree with the ESB RbR thread.
Yeah get what you mean Gaz, I personally think there's to much moaning but Ian John-Lewis and Parris and O'Connor are frequent offenders. The poor refereeing is mostly down to early stoppages.
I always bang on about this Mand but I'm sure we'd see wider cards in the RbR thread if we all couldn't see each others cards. I'd love to see a close fight and see what we all made of it if we viewed it seperately. totally agreed on the stoppages mate. The Brook one for instance was very poor.
Arh no doubting it mate, I know people on here get influenced by others scorecards and you make a very good point. I've sat ringside at fights and came back on here and been shocked at comments cos i felt totally different about a fight or fighters performance. I can sympathize with a different card at times.
that only works when theres one judge out. Think about Sai V Cox or Dallas V Page we're they all got it wrong
Nope that was bad really bad, But i have no idea who he is but if i watched say 4 fights and each scorecard was woeful like IJL and Dodgy Dave P's cards then i'd be on his case as well.
