Commonwealth is still the gayest belt though

Wow! some supposedly 'credible' poster are embarrassing the shít out of themselves on this thread.

p.s. the Italian army is the best in the world because they have the best tailored uniforms and the most ostentatious epaulettes!

So which does earn you more money then, the British title or the European ?
Which gives you a better World ranking ?
and considering it's almost defunct, which title has a bigger pool of fighter willing(not capable) to fight for it, the European or the WBU ?

There's no need to be childish just because Rob for once is making some very valid points.

How the hell is this even being argued? Some of you clowns will insist that the grass should be blue & the sky should be green, just because you'd prefer it that way.

The British Masters Title is better than both.

A far livelier debate than I expected with some interesting opinions.

However still no definitive conclusion on which would earn the most money and higher ranking.

I think its fair to say the continental champion SHOULD be higher ranked though.

If these are aimed at me

I was teasing Rob about the WBU and wondering how long before he'd click, which he clearly did in the end.

    Have a word with yourselves.

If anyone needs any proof that I'm right, just re-watch last night's fight.

I'm sure you won't see the same intensity and desire to win a European title or WBA super duper interim title that was on display from Crolla and Watson last night.

If you think there is "no definitive conclusion" then I dont know what posts you are reading - certainly not the rationale ones.

You get higher purses for the European title - FACT. You get higher world rankings for having the European title - FACT.

Not sure it could be any more conclusive actually.

The guys stating the British title is better tend to be the "uber-Brits" on here and their argument boils down to the fact that the British title belt "looks nice"

I guess some people are distracted by shiney trinkets.

    Hang on!

You've turned this into a "Irish vs Rest of the world" argument.

I know i never specified but my question was referring to a big British Title fight involving 2 local rivals.

In my case, for example, Dodson vs Quigley - selling out the Liverpool Echo Arena - 10,000 - 12,000 seats.

And for example a Matthew Hatton vs the highest ranked French or Italian for the E.B.U. I won't go searching for names as I have no knowledge of the contenders and won't pretend to.

Is there more money in the big domestic clash?

The European Title has dramatically declined in stature and standard over the last few years and there is no way that you can sugar cote that fact. Whereas the British is currently going through something of a resurgence and you are getting a lot of good fighters going down the traditional route once more.

It's a tie for me purely because the European has sold it's sole with crap like the EU, EEU and letting **** fighters go for the title and it has lost a lot of lustre as you are now getting top fighters from outside the UK going down the Inter Alphabetbet bollox route.

You want proof just look at Carl Froch's British Title reign, he made something like 5 defence's and beat some top domestic fighters, name me one European Title reign that was more impressive then his British Title Reign.

Basically it depends. No longer can you say the European Title is always harder to get or more meaningful. If you beat a proper opponent it is, perfect example of this would be someone like Simone Maludrottu who was just short but not disgraced at world class but very good at European level. That's the type of opponent that brings the title credibility. But there are some absolute shockers flying around that are worse than British title fights.

So I'm a joke for not agreeing fully with an arrogant gimp like you?

Stick to the Irish Boxing thread, where you can plug your shitty little articles to all your followers.

    Wanker.
