Brock Lesnar was 100% going into UFC 141, Overeem was a better fighter

i think brock was as healthy as he could be in that timeframe and at about 80% of his best. that extra 20% would take at least another year to make up and thats the reason i picked overeem. brock still would have lost regardless though.

Im sure he was 100% coming into the fight only his 100% this time is not as good as the 100% when he was in this "prime"

Yep, this was the best Brock. Not a single takedown attempt and giving up.

Yep, Overeem has great TDD. Never been easily taken down by lesser grapplers in his career.

Nothing to see here. And lol @ making this thread now. Where were these big nuts a couple weeks back? None of you ****ers would even think about taking an AV bet. Even you thought Brock was just going to take Reem down.

L0ONG ass title thread but yea brock was 100% and just didnt execute the game plan -- "flurry of shitty punches then takedown and if not successful repeat until takedown gets done."

He didn't go for a takedown the entire fight. Brock is a freestyle wrestler specializing in singles and doubles. Not a greco guy. He basically threw the fight.

I don't know about throwing the fight but he sure didn't look good. He looked slow and plodding and when he went for the leg and Reem quickly shrugged it off Brock mentally crumbled. He looked scared and clueless and it was a matter of time before he dropped.

I thought he would of put up a better fight but that was embarrasing for him. He really didn't have a plan B and at this level it's hard to compensate.

It didn't look like he had a plan A. I don't remember seeing him reach for a leg. He was coming forward slowly with arms outstretched standing up. That's not a takedown attempt. He gave zero effort. If Brock commits to a shot, there aren't many wrestlers on the planet that could stop him from at least getting them down temporarily. SHould be no different with Overeem. Brock beat himself, and in the process lost a lot of fans.

He had a hold of 1 of reems legs for a sec but that was it. After that fight I knew he was retiring, he got starched in his last 2 fights and was razor close to getting starched in the carwin fight as well. A fresh Carwin had shrugged off his TD attempt also and CAin got right up after he got taken down. So I'm thinking even if Brock got him down Reem would have got back up and then you know what would happen after that.

  9. Brock had a prime?

Brock should go back beating old people in retirement homes. The guy is a can, as big a can as ive ever seen.

Seriously hows his colon going to help him when hes scared of punches and runs away from them. More colon doesnt increase bravery.

    This.

Furthermore he had been inactive for over a year.

I don't believe 2011 Brock Lesnar was the same physical beast he was in 2008/9, but I don't believe the 2008/9 version would've avoided an ass-kicking by Overeem anyway. Alistair is just a better fighter than Brock ever was or ever could have been, but that doesn't mean Lesnar wasn't affected by his diseases and lay-offs, he obviously was.

You know, Fedor didn't have any life-threatening illnesses. But he has lost more fights in a row than Brock, and against inferior opposition. :good

    :hat

Fedor's best wins are prime versions of the #2 and #3 hw's in history, Rodrigo Nogueira and Mirko Crocop.

Lesnar's best wins are Frank Mir, Shane Carwin (who beat the **** out of him) and a well past-prime Randy Couture who was about 50lbs lighter than him.

Troll's shitty argument demolished in double-quick time.

Brock Lesnar is **** at wrestling: FACT. He may have been good in the past, at college etc, but I have never EVER seen him do anything remotely appraoching a high standard of wrestling in any of his MMA fights. I said this before the fight and I say it with even more conviction now. Can we please put this **** to bed. He had a single in this fight and did absolutely **** all. Even fighters that are sparked out in 12 seconds try to wrestle the ref on instinct alone. Lesnar had a single within the 1st minute of a fight against a K1 level striker and did NOTHING. He should have gone for the takedown like a mother****er, it was his only chance. He didn't even try and you can't even say this is out of character as it is typical of BL's career in MMA. He has shown no aptitude for wrestling whatsoever unless the other guy is absolutley gassed beyond belief.

I suspect BL's amateur wrestling career was so impressive because he was taking steroids from a very young age and had massive strength advantages over his peers. This would explain both 2 serious bouts of diverticulitis in such a young athlete and also his inability to out wrestle opponants on a level playing field even when he outweighed some of them. Either that or he just lost his MOJO somehow while in WWE.

I don't get how people thought he was going to take Overeem down at all. i guess from listening to the UFC pre fight build up propoganda videos rather than looking at the evidence of fights maybe? It amazes me.
