Pac is a former flyweight who grew into a WW

people forget he was a flyweight when he started fighting in the pros at 17

I get it now; when you claim Pacquiao is a lightweight, you just mean he could make it today.

Now for the real part: Pacquiao is currently a welterweight, not a lightweight. And should be referred to as such. If I paint a blue car red, it is now a red car. If Pacquiao was a lightweight, he'd be fighting at lightweight.

Truth be told, we don't know for a FACT that Pacquiao or Broner can make lightweight still.

You deal in absolutes, but that's not the way the world actually is.

He's a welterweight unless he fights in a different weight class. He's not gaining weight for these matches, he's still cutting weight. Which is why he rehydrates to 150. Since his lightweight days he's been rehydrating to 147, now that he's at 147, he's not rehydrating but a few lbs over. I think it's safe to say that welterweight is his NATURAL weight class.

Bro, it's simple: if they're fighting at welterweight, they're a welterweight. If they want to make themselves lightweights, then go for it. But until then, they're welterweights. Canelo is a middleweight until he comes in at 154 again. You can't pick and choose who's small and who isn't.

Pacquiao isn't a really strong lightweight fighting at welterweight, he's a short welterweight.

It's not that simple. The world doesn't work in absolutes. Why do you think a win over Pacquiao at 122-135 means a lot more (legacy wise) than a win over him at 147?

Because he was more prime at that point, but he's no longer a 122-135 lbs fighter. So this argument is irrelevant.

Because he was younger? There is no way he could make 122 now so what is the point of your argument?
