Could argue that Lynnes & Witter are still ahead of him.

Turning down the fight with Tim Bradley was the biggest mistake of Kells career and that was all down to Eddie Hearn and his fetish with IBF eliminators.

I would have put Lynes ahead of him since he beat him, but on that logic Witter is ahead of Lynes, when really he is a long way past his best and while he would cause Purdy problems simply by being so awkward, Purdy would win a close UD.

In hindsight perhaps the Bradley fight was a good idea but at the time I thought Hearn pretty much got it right, Brook had just struggled with Carson Jones who roughed him up a bit so he probably thought Bradley with his aggressive head first style would do even worse, he's got skills too whereas Jones doesn't have many. Maybe he thought Alexander was the easier proposition and he did deliver that fight almost straight away anyway. The injury could just have easily happened training for Bradley.

Hearn doesn't mind throwing someone like Rees over to the States for a pay day against Broner as it's a good show for him to have on Sky and realistically Rees is coming to the end of his career and can be sacrificed to some extent, him wanting the fight just made it a no brainer. Brook is still young though and can shift a few tickets at home so he's going to be more carefully managed to some extent by Hearn.

Not really. Like I have said there 6 fighters in the UK I would rate above him.

Dont really agree with this.I think Bradley is a couple of levels above Carson Jones, only thing they've got in common is their hairstyles.Would have been as big a jump in class as that experienced by Dave Price in his last one.Same with Alexander. This cancellation may be a bit of a blessing in disguise. If,as I think Rob said,Brook fights in July and then twice more, against good opposition, even if the first is Purdy, hell be in a good place.Trouble is,I don't think hell get 3 in this year.

Dont think Lee stands even a slight chance against Devon from what Ive seen of him but will be chuffed if it happens as we booked flights over and would be nice to be able to shout on a Brit..
