I'd favor Lara. He's just a little too tricky for someone like Kell. My only real knock on Erislandy, who I rate as a top tier fighter, is his lack of volume offensively. He essentially handicaps himself by his lack of volume and ends up making certain fights closer than they have to be. Anyway, that's his M.O. and I wouldn't expect him to change much stylistically given his age. Anyway I'd favor Lara something to the effect of 70-30 in a match with Brook. Kell has never seen anyone as slick as Lara in his pro career.
I think that Brook would take a UD. Lara's a slippery customer but Brook is very well rounded and carries quite a bit of power with him. If Kell works the body he will probably end up coming on strong in the late rounds and win a fairly clear decision.
I don't want to use the King GiGi fight as a reference because of triangle theories but Lara would put up a horrible performance against golovkin lol. Brook wins by UD, he does everything better. This is a modern day mayweather-Judah with Brook being mayweather.
Brook would have a real hard time with Lara, he'd be the one person I'd try to avoid at JMW, him and Andrade
Brooks ace up his sleeve in this fight is his exceptional timing which should counter any deficit in speed and footwork. Still, a very close fight to call and a genuine 50/50
Maybe English is not your first language? I'll try again: I think that Brook will win a close fight against a Lara that has seen better days and that it would be a poor showing if he couldn't manage it. How's that?
If it's in the UK which most likely it would, Brook by SD. He did prove he has power he stunned Ggg acouple of times, those same shots would do damage to Lara. Brook is also a better inside fighter than Lara. I hope this fight gets made it is pretty interesting.
So you guys think this is a pretty even match more or less yet people claim Lara vs GGG will be competitive? You guys did see Brook's face after the GGG fight right?
I don't see Brook competing with any of the top talent at 154. He loses all his advantages there and isn't talented enough to outbox the top dogs. They'll probably match him up with another domestic level British fighter like Brian Rose, Khan or Smith. His days as a champion are over, especially with that eye.
Decision Lara? very improbable I think Brooks need some soul searching and test the 154 before jumping in a very difficult Lara the towel tossing is too fresh on everybody.
I don't know what your position is because your statement was a bit vague. Are you saying that Lara would be the ineffective aggressor and that Brook would be the one landing cleaner punches and exhibit superior ring generalship? I like Brook but he's become quite overrated on this board. Beating Porter was a terrific win for him, his best by far, but that was a relatively close fight. And while he had a few moments looking good against a fighter who looked like he was having an off day (GGG,) he still got pummeled in that fight and lost in 5 rounds. Lara has taking on essentially all the top guys at 154 and has some really impressive wins. I don't see anyone around 154 that possesses the ring generalship or technical brilliance that he has. Brook has an advantage at WW given his good size and above average power. Both of those are lost the moment he decides to venture north of the 147 division. He'd be the smaller man against Lara, and IMO the more rudimentary boxer of the 2.
