Brook Was ahead on every card

I had GGG up 4-0 at the stoppage. I can see how people gave Brook round 2, but when I rewatched that round it was clear to me GGG was just baiting him in that round a little but still had the most landed, and cleanest, most effective punches.

People who gave Brook the other rounds, and especially the first round, are either his fans, GGG haters or just don't know how to score a fight. It looks like GGG is now getting judged like Mike Tyson. Expectations are now so high, if he doesn't have a highlight reel KO in a round, he "looked bad", "got schooled" or some other nonsense.

The saddest part is, maybe only 5 percent of posters on this sight have any idea what they are looking at when they watch a fight. And yet the clueless 95 % are always going on about "casuals".

I have not seen anyone notice yet that Brook was in survival mode from round two on, GGG arguably scored a KD in round 2, the damage that was being done to Brook in every round, that GGG was landing more and harder shots than Brook, or that GGG varied his attack with each round to find ways to be most effective against a very good defensive fighter in survival mode. If you read the RBR on this site, so called "experts" mostly see Brook cruising to a win and are shocked when the fight was stopped. Again, really sad.

It was a pretty even fight. having either guy up is reasonable. I only gave Brook a single round (rd2) but I think you could have given him the 1st or had that even. Rounds 3 and 4 were close and competitive too.

Not that the scorecards are relevant at all. After 4 rounds, Brook's cornerman knew it was over, a few minutes later he was waving the towel to save his fighter from more permanent damage.
And I don't think we'll see Brook in a boxing ring for a long while yet. At the end of the day it was a beatdown.

Neither Ward nor Lara would have survived the first rd of that fight with their glass jaws.

 

Golovkin was clearly winning. The only round Brook could have got was the second.

 

GGG rd 1. Close # of power/punches thrown and landed, but GGG nearly KHTFO with that vicious Lhook combo up and down.
Rd 2. Clear Brook rd. Countered the shiit out of an out of character GGG who was winging shots from aweful range. Almost looked as bad as Yeller in rds 1-7 of the Lara fight.
Rd 3. Brook rd officially, but GGG scored a KD landing a L hook while Brook was trying to smother. Sure, Brook was off balance, trying to come forward to smother, but being pressured back, causing the hook to score and eventually drop him, but un-scored, so Brook rd.
Rd 4. GGG rd. Better ring cutting than previous rds. No KDs, but Brook throwing less counters and looking clearly overwhelmed.
Rd 5. Even without a KD...had it come to an end, 10-8 rd for GGG. Outthrew and outlanded Brook by like 10-1.

GGG cut the ring off....nailed Brook down then up and nearly KHTFO.

Porter had both Alexander and Malinaggi and Broner all reeling with his power.
He never so much as made Brook move into second gear.
Brook KOs Lara in less than a handful of rds, and it will take a full weight 190 lb Ward to survive 12 with GGG.

In 2018 when GGG moves permanently to the SMW division, Ward will either A....demand a full 175lb fight, or B, be retired after his fight with Kovalev.

That is an empty statement. Froch said the same thing, but we never saw Brook at 160 before last night. For all we know he could be #2 at MW but he just went in there with the best MW and lost. It doesn't mean anything about his place at middleweight, except that he's not the best at MW.
