How do you guys think that Buakaw would do in the UFC LW division?
Could he make some noise in the division or even good enough to make it to the belt?

Dont know who he is then hit him up on youtube and enjoy.

he would be insane but all it comes down to in the transition from any combat sport other than mma to mma is takedown defense.

If he could defend a takedown he'd be great, chances are he can't.

He's got as good as shot as anybody if he trained with Mixed Martial Artist, but I don't think he could make the transition this deep into his striking career.

Like most Thai boxers Buakaws kicks are his main weapon particularly his hard body kicks. In MMA some of those kicks would be caught and Buakaw would be on his back. So ultimately Buakaws success would mostly depend on how skilled he can become fighting off his back. My question is why take an elite striker and place him in a sport that would see his best weapons (kicks) taken away from him?

I would say enjoy Buakaw as a Muay thai/kickboxer. He, along with other elite strikers are specialized fighters with highly refined skills. He was not meant to be a jack-of-all-trades MMA fighter. Just as Saenchai Sinbi, Pacquiao, Petrosayan, Mayweather, Donaire, or any other master of striking is designed to thrown to the ground and pounded on/ submitted. Why squander a great fighters talents?

Save that for the mediocre strikers, maybe then they can be the best at something...
