How do you guys see this going? Buatsi seems much busier early on and you have to survive a 6 round onslaught-which for example saw Bolotniks on defensive mode, knocked down, cut and busted up and badly down on points HOWEVER Buatsi did slow down and seemed to need to get a second and third gear to win. Richards seems more classic and low paced theoughout. Can he come and stop Buatsi late?
Buatsi should win on points. I can't see him taking out Richards but stranger things have happened. I'm not sure what he does next if he does win. The yarde fight would be a good fight and a good build up. I just think the next level is to much of a jump.
Not great is it. Still better than FW's undercards which are dreadful. Eddie and DAZN need to step it up to compete with Boxxer and the Sky machine.
Terrible card. It's frustrating because the main event (Buatsi-Richards) is a really interesting and even fight.
Terrible undercard, from a promoter who supposedly moved from Sky to make fights he could not make otherwise. That being said though, the main event is so good and I have been waiting for Buatsi to be in a fight like this for so long I don't care too much about the supporting acts this time. Buatsi will get to Richards I feel, but it will take him some time, I'm going for a late round 9-10 TKO. Richards has improved massively since his early days with Matchroom but I still feel he's a level below Buatsi who has a lot more about him in all departments, mainly power and aggression. I think he will be able to cut Richards space off and keep the pressure on him until he starts to hurt him. Buatsi's power is underrated despite him knocking out 15 out of 17 opponents, he hits every bit as hard as Yarde for example and I think he will be too much for Craig on the night. As for what comes next who knows. Beterbiev should hold 3 of the 4 belts within the next 4 months, and from that point on being realistic it's just a waiting game until he starts to vacate or just retires if he can't get a Bivol fight as he's 37, he is far too small to move up so really his days are numbered in a division where you need to cut weight and mandatories would start to get called. The logical fight to make if/when JB beats Richards is Buatsi vs Yarde but that feels further away now than ever before..
Buatsi is a frontrunner and Richards maintains a low steady pace throughout and is dangerous late. Might be a banana peel for Buatsi altough I think he takes too much of an early lead to lose it in the end.
Don't know if Buatsi career is good or bad atm. Was my favorite boxer from that era who turned over but something about his journey that I can't get excited about now.
I guess you're thinking he did almost as good as Canelo, so he must be about the same level? My idea is that against Canelo Bivol knew there was a more as 80% chance the judges would try to shaft him, so he fought a more diciplined fight. Don’t think he expected the attempted robbery in his fight against Richards, and just coasted though at times, knowing he should clearly be up on the cards.
Certainly wasn't suggesting he was at that level. The result just looks a little better in hindsight. Didn't see the Richards Bivol fight, how did he look? Was there an obvious gap on talent
i dont think its as bad as some people say. babic is a fun fighter. i like robbie davis jr fight. the rest is meh. hopefully the prospects go for the ko
He looked like a good enough contender, but only a single scorecard reflected what was actually going on in the ring. Bivol was in control troughout the fight, but Richards did better as expected. Just horrendous scorecards.
I'm very excited to watch Babic. A bull dozer that pressures and bludgeons the opponent from the first bell all attack no defense
Think this was bad, take a look at Cordina’s undercard. Think we’ve all said it before, but the UK market isn’t big enough to sustain Matchroom, Queensberry, Wasserman, Probellum all having stables, amongst others… The strength in depth isn’t there…
