I thought this was a joke but it's not. I think moving the show to York Hall only helps a narrative that the main event was cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
How much money do you reckon Boxxer lost? How many tickets were they expecting to be sold? They should have learnt from Buatsi vs Richards not selling well and half the crowd leaving during Buatsi vs Stepien. To make matters worse, they had no ticket sellers on the undercard either. The quality of boxing on Sky Sports has decreased dramatically since Matchroom left. I wouldn't be surprised if Sky are considering cutting their losses and only doing PPV shows instead.
Your making it up now..I was at buatsi stepien, it was a bout 3 quarter full. A lot of the Birmingham fighters on the card sold well.
Matchroom UK Based Cards have been turd for a while now and he should be focussing on his own business.
Did you read what I said? I said that a lot of the crowd left mid-way through Buatsi vs Stepien, and that Buatsi vs Richards was very empty.
Funny how posts get stranded when threads get merged... this referred to Hearn "being right" about something - the rate he rabbits in YouTube videos he's bound to be right now and again
Not really, as he was saying that Buatsi vs Azeez wouldn't happen. I don't recall him ever saying a fight that was announced wouldn't take place 2-3 weeks before the fight date. It sounds like Hearn heard murmurs of poor ticket sales, which is why he's been talking about how many tickets Catterall vs Linares has sold constantly. On a serious note though, why are there only 4 fights? Don't Boxxer have any fighters to get out? On November 18 their only signed fighters with a fight are Adam Azim and Tyler Denny. Boxxer's stable is looking really thin - they need some more signings. It would be in the best interest of the fans if Wardley beat Adeleye so Wardley vs Clarke gets made next on Sky. If Adeleye wins, there's no way Shalom and Warren will work together to make that fight.
I wonder why Buatsi isn't a big ticket seller. He's got an exciting style and has been in good fights.
