I think of Buddy as a good welter and a superb junior welter. At 140, he had pop and stoppage power and could also box the ears off the likes of Saoul Mamby. I think his only loss at that weight was to Frankie Warren, which he avenged by TKO. At 147, I have to give Curtis the edge in a fairly big way. Buddy could survive and compete but I don’t know how many rounds he would win — more than not he came up short against top opposition at welter, and Cokes is nothing if not top opposition.
