Hope you guys are noting that his reasoning for this is because of Dawson's marketability and ability to sell tickets. He is not doubting Dawson's attributes and actually goes on to praise them later on.

No it's not dawsons fault that he isn't a draw but the fact remains he isn't a name yet on the world stage.

Nobody cares about dawson vs tarver outside of the usa that is the problem, until he fights a hopkins or another big name he will remain in relative obscurity.

Like most people couldn't tell you who the **** paul williams is outside of boxing fans around the world as crazy as that sounds.
Simply because he hasn't fought a mayweather mosely cotto or another big name.

The only big name at light heavy is hopkins and it's unlikely they shall meet so really he needs to go down to 168 if he wants to make a name and money for himself vs kessler froch bute and so on or hope they move up.

Now kessler froch bute etc aren't exactly world celebs either but what they do have is a draw ppv money from their home countrys.

It's like nobody had heard of calzaghe in the states (outside boxing fans) until he fought lacy and hopkins.
