Yeah i dont really think he ducked them but it cannot be said he cleaned out the cruisers. either... Speaking of cunningham King did a great job in ruining his career.

i would love if he fought Vitaly next even though it should be Wlad... But if 50/50 isnt good enough for him it will never happen.

Mormeck had been unified undisputed champion until losing to O'Neill Bell. Bell was stripped of the IBF title for rematching Mormeck.

Mormeck then beat Bell by decision after some warm-ups to reclaim the lineal title but not the IBF belt.

In the meantime, Cunningham lost initially before beating Wlodarczyk to win the formerly vacant title he'd failed to take last time out. It's the definition of a paper title since it really belonged to Mormeck.

Mormeck is the Ring champion and the lineal holder at this point. Haye takes him on and wins to take the lineal title and two of the belts. He should have the IBF but for Bell being stripped. He faces the only valid title holder in the division in Maccarinelli and unifies all valid belts. He's lineal and undisputed.

Adamek had done nothing at the weight at that point, so was a non-issue and Haye would not have had to clear him out.

As for Cunningham, well so what? The only reason he was an issue was because he held a paper title. He shouldn't have had the belt, so was nothing more than a contender.

Yes, he did. Follow what I said to you:

Mormeck is unified champ (WBC, WBA, IBF), he loses to Bell, loses the titles and the lineal championship.
Bell sits inactive till the Mormeck rematch. IBF strip him. He's still lineal and unified champ.
Cunningham and Wloddy fight for a vacant title. Wloddy wins. It's a paper title.
Bell rematches Mormeck and loses. Mormeck regains his titles.
Cunningham wins his title from Wloddy AFTER that fight. It's still a paper title.
    Haye beats Mormeck.

The ONLY reason Cunningham is a factor is because Bell was stripped. Haye clleared out the division of every valid champion. There was no gain in fighting Cunningham.

So in your words Haye is just a paper heavy champ as well. Considering that they stripped chagaev to give it to valuev.. :stir :D

Never the less he never held all the titles and he never did clean out the division.

I agree with the first part and not the second. The belts are largely irrelevant in terms of the lineal title. Haye was the lineal champ by beating the man. That's all that matters.

I consider Haye a titlist, but only on paper. Wlad's the champ. I'm not sure what Vitali is other than a titlist. The reality of negotiations though means it matters. I'm not sure what you've proved. Wlad and Vitali haven't cleaned out the division. Neither have faced Valuev - Haye has. Neither faced Ruiz - Haye has. You can twist an argument to suit almost any point.

Facts though, state that Haye was the lineal champ at CW. Wlad was gifted his Ring title for facing Chagaev, who had no title and hadn't fought anyone worth a **** since beating Valuev.

 true enough im just having fun with you. haye was the champ at cruiser... not undisputed mind you.. because people can still claim to be champ at the same time.. but for all sence and purpous he was the man. the others were at best considered challengers... Same about cleaning out the division though i think to be said you cleaned out a division you need to have beaten a good portion of the other contenders or have a ton of defences that he didn't do. Regardless he still was the best cruiser at the time.

This thread fully clarify's my boredom with boxing forums these days.

I mean who gives a **** who said who was offered what and it turned out not to be an agreement forged in steel.

Discussing fights, fighters, skills, achievements, poor performances, training methods, controversial scoring etc all seem worthy subjects but there seems to be a deluge of threads dedicated to purse spilts which I struggle to find any interest in whatsoever.

The two biggest fights in boxing should, but aren't, happening. It makes me want to tear my hair out and also overshadows other fights :-(
