Just feel Frankie is too small and lacks the power to make it to world level... Don't know much about Bundu but if people are saying Purdy gave him trouble then Gavin should win.
given the chance Frankie would fight Manny no problem I'd believe 1000/1 you would become a very poor and silly man
Wouldn't be surprised if Bundu makes this an interesting fight. He was a classy operator against Purdy.
Purdy is hardly terrible - he's a good domestic fighter. Gavin is levels above. I think Frankie wins a fairly clear points decision - but it won't be a walk in the park.
When Purdy fought Bundu, he was able to perform above expectations, and above his normal level. Yet, Bundu was in control after eight (Purdy's best round) and was eventually able to grind down and stop him. Bundu's probably the most multi-faceted fighter that Gavin's faced, and likely the most skilled. Gavin will have to be on point to beat him, and I'd be really surprised (and impressed) if he does so easily.
at least you tried, and nobody can ever take that away from you. i can't imagine obsessing about boxers' ***ual proclivities is a goldmine, either.
Purdy fought like it was his last fight. He put everything into that fight were lesser boxers would have wilted Bundu soaked it up dished it out and got the stoppage. The Gavin fight would be anywhere near as ruthless, but Bundu showed he can certainly take a punch, he's got good power, he can box a bit and is a good athelete. I can see this being a competitive bout with Gavin getting the nod 8 rounds to 4. Hopefully Gavin can look good and get his name out there.
Eerie how similar this is to Saunders vs. Blandamura, and just a week later. In both cases, you have an unbeaten wunderkind from the UK who is so far ahead of the class he almost looks bored at times and has lapses in mental sharpness against opponents he should be excelling over - and then you have in the other corner a light-hitting but very tricky unbeaten Italian stylist in his 30's but very well-conditioned and with some impressive performances on the European circuit. :blood You almost wonder if Frank is having a ****-take here. Why not have paired them up on the same card for a UK vs. Italy doubleheader, with all those parallels between them? One minor point, though - Blandamura, while very good, is not in Bundu's league. Gavin, meanwhile, has faltered perhaps a tiny bit more when faced with adversity than Saunders in his match-ups thus far. (though BJS has by no means been punch-perfect himself every night out)
Good fight this and good step up for Frankie, this will be a large indication on how well he may do on a World level. I believe Bundu's a real good boxer but not at Gavins level, however he will cause Gavin some real problems he's not yet been faced with in his previous opponents. such as his stamina, power and ring IQ , overall being better than all hes shared a ring with. Even so ill predict a Gavin UD.
Great summary IB. :happy I think Bundu is very decent, and will cause Frankie more than a few problems. Hard to see anyone but the very best out pointing Frankie though - he's the real deal.
