Katsidis has to be close to the record of 'interim' fights.

Katsidis is this really an easier fight than Broner? I think not.

Is this the full WBO title or the interim if so I will be pleased at either result Katsidis finally getting a belt would be nice and Burns beating Katsidis would be a massive victory. That said it is a BIG ask.

    Katsidis stops him inside 9

Why do you have to try to divide the support? You have said separately on this site that Kevin Mitchell is a 'top lad', now you trade off his bad loss to big up your own fighter. This does not have to become a competition between Scottish and English fans, not with Burns going into a fight that few would argue is not a big one.

I am English, but will be massively supporting Burns for this fight (particularly if it is for the full title, rather than the interim..?).

It's just a shame that you are using gloating over other fighters' previous losses to sell your fighter's title fight. It's Ricky Burns fighting for a world title against a legitimate world-ranked fighter who has been in with some top operators - you don't need to goad us, it's a good fight, most on here will agree that.

Even where some of us criticized some of the previous Burns opponents and matchmaking, that does not make us anti-Scottish, we just didn't like some of the opponents and matchmaking. I thought Joe Calzaghe took a couple too many soft defences in the middle of his reign, that does not make me anti-Welsh, I just thought he took a few too many soft defences. I didn't Chris Eubank was always matched as aggressively as I would have matched him, but that does not make me anti-English, I am a massive fan of his.

When there is a good fight to support, most will support it. So there is no need to start off on an antagonistic foot, surely?

Classy mate. I actually rather like Ricky Burns, both as a person and a fighter, so i wouldnt say I'm jelous of him at all. Boxers should give him respect as it takes a man to step in the ring and put his life on the line every time. You, however, are doing nothing but ruining his image on this board. The sooner Ricky sees it the better, as you'll be yet another Scot signing on the dole line every week. Now kindly, do one :good

Whilst i'm disappointed that Burns won't be defending his strap against Broner i'm happy it's for a good reason and another good fighter! Katsidis is always in exciting fights and i expect no different here, a big step up from what Burns has been fighting recently so looking forward to it.
