Ricky gets less exposure as he's had 6 awful performances in a row. How do you market someone who fails time and time again?

To say he's not part of the clique shows how clueless you are. Last time I checked he was training with Tony Sims and sparring with Mitchell and the like. How much more involved could he be on that basis?

Ricky was struggling to sell out average-sized arenas in Scotland towards the end. Perhaps some of the blame lays at the door of the Scottish fans for not coming to support their man which in turn has caused the lack of exposure?

second time in about an hour I find myself completely ageing with your post, hope you don't think im following you around this forum but yeah completely agree that to many bad performances in a row is the reason for not getting much exposure at the minute and this whole "clique" thing is ridiculous, matchroom is a business and if you are doing well you will always get the most exposure the moment you fall off you go to the bottom of the pile, that's just how it works

Definitely some interesting fights that could be made. If Flanagan wins I doubt Frank would let Flanagan take a defence against Burns unless it was a mandatory. If Crolla comes through maybe he'll get Burns rated with the WBA and have Crolla come up make a defence in Glasgow, knowing it will sell 10k tickets easy. Well it definitely would If Brophy and Simmons are on the bill too. Win, win for Hearn.

 

The thing is Burns has fallen off loads but he could still beat most of the domestic lot. Say Crolla beat Perez and then beat Mathews in his mandatory defence, Crolla Vs Burns would be big in Scotland. Likewise if Mitchell beats Linares, Mitchell Vs Burns in a rematch (highly unlikely due to trainers) would be big in Scotland.

Ricky can easily get the Scottish fight fans back out again but it won't happen for a completely nothing fight like Hearn would want. The reason he isn't fighting in Scotland at the minute is because the Zlaticanin ticket sales weren't good, but for the right domestic world title fight (maybe even without a world title on the line) he'd easily sell out 10k in Scotland.

 

the YAnks were impressed with Burns and have offered him more fights in America...dont think the cash is very good for them kind of fights though so i think he will be back in UK fighting top domestic level...

What sizes were the venues for each fight?

As usual, your utter stupidity means you have struggled to comprehend basic English. Nowhere did I say it didn't sell out but I am pretty sure the arena sizes decreased and it took a prolonged amount of promotion before they sold out. It certainly wasn't instantaneous.

 

Well in the 135ib division it is very week with regards to world class fighters, the only two real world class fighters in the division in recent years are no longer at that weight, current champions are very weak but Ricky is passed his best unfortunately.

 

In fairness the arena size increased first from Braehead 6000 people to SECC 10,000 people to Hydro 12,000.
