It`s his mandatory unfortunatly,not a great fight,his worst at ligtweight in fact but it still pisses over Laryea who this guy beat in 3 rounds, bad back nicky Cook which was a disgrace of a fight and Everson who must be close to being classed a midget.I will judge hearn on the September opponent where there should be no mandatory to cloud the matter
He will fight Rees if he comes through unscathed in June. You have to remember guys like vasquez, broner and abril will have fights most likely scheduled for the summer so fighting in September will prove to be difficult.
We shall see,september is being mentioned at the moment but who knows it`s not set in stone they could wait til October for someone like Vasquez,the Rees fight wouldn`t be good enough for me and i`m a Rees fan he would need two big wins for that fight to interest me,unification is what is needed. If Burns fights Rees in September then that is a step back again, Eddie needs to have something lined up immediately to negotiate with Abril/Vasquez or Broner in the event Ricky wins on May 11th. Realistically then that leads Vasquez and Abril because Hearn has pretty much stated he doesnt want Ricky in with broner
I don't think that Burns will fight Rees, I saw an interview somewhere, were he said that no offence to Scott Harrison or Gavin Rees, but there looking at bigger fights than that.
