When he was in peak condition -- which wasn't often -- Buster's handspeed was superb. I would put his handspeed one notch below that over great speedsters such as Holmes and Ali.

Tubbs had faster hands. Douglas had decent hand speed, specifically with his jab. What made Douglas interesting was he was taught to throw punches in combination. He rarely just threw a one two. He was always throwing multiple power shots behind a good jab.

His biggest flaw was a lead uppercut he often threw from the outside which is the dumbest shot in boxing.

Douglas was a real solid technician when he wasn't unsettled or pressured too much. The Tyson fight was really something comIng from Douglas.

He was on par with Lewis, Golota, Bowe and other superheavys I'd say, but I don't think his speed was ever something that really stuck out

It was good. It also help that he through great snappy punches with excellent form.

I dont think he was especially speedy, honestly. Certainly not slow, certainly he was above average, but a lot of it was excellent technique. He was never blinding. Wlad is much faster.

agreed solid technician I believe his jab was better than Lewis's jab. Buster had
good combos using fast hands and fast feet as well
