It would be interesting to know more about Monaco. Wiki says that he turned pro at 27 years old after being a body builder, he fought tough fights from the beginning, losing to Butterbean (14-0) in his second fight, fighting a draw with Rick Roufas (6-1) less than 2 months later, then going 10 with Trevor Berbeck (44-8-1) in his 10th fight, only 13 months after turning pro. Monaco is listed at 5-11, with an 80" reach, looks like he can hit, but started boxing late. He fought a lot of names and most of the time gave them rounds and occasionally pulled off the upset. Amazing for a guy with no previous background in boxing. Monaco might have been a monster if he had started boxing earlier and maybe had an amateur career?

His first ten opponents had a record of 127-16-3, his next ten opponents were 207-21-3. Monaco with no previous boxing experience went 7-11-2 through his first 20 fights against opponents who were a combined 334-37-6.

no one knows how buster was feeling after that shot. I'd give him the benifut of the doubt. I wouldn't call him a quitter. He didn't train and get in the ring with that guy to quit. the shot may not have been intentional, but was after the bell so illegal. No win deserved for monico

Honestly Douglas a few years later was considered for a comebacking Mike Tyson I know Tyson was a mess in his life but he would have destroyed fat old Douglas.
