He beat the worst defensive fighter in the division who is a solid B level. This doesnt compare to the ward win. Kudos to bute for stopping Andrade impressively, but really, Andrade was never going anywhere and is essentially a B level gatekeeper.
Bute would easily handle Froch. I expect Froch to get exposed the minute he fights Abraham, Ward or Kessler. Out of the others, I think Bute might lose to Ward. Not sure yet though. He has significantly better inside game than Kessler. As always, Abraham is a big question mark in this.
well, regardless of andrade's limitations and such, this was a great redemption for bute and I hope he takes on one of the top dogs ASAP
Bute accomplished the impossible; Andrade isn't the best OK but damn he's never been taken out or even close to that. Bute should replace Taylor in the Super 6...screw Allan Green he hasn't proved anything yet.
#1 super middleweight? Bute was getting hit with some serious shots by Andrade (a slow, plodding fighter ) prior to the stoppage, AND he was fighting nervous the whole time. Bute wouldn't make it past any of the tournament fighters, except for perhaps Taylor
I dunno. If you just go by names then yeah the Ward win was better, but Kessler didn't look any better than Andrade when it comes down to brass tacks. Anyway, that fight was better then all of the first round super six fights combined.
Bute was impressive. But with the Showtime tournament taking the other 6 boxers, where does Bute go from here? He can always fight the winner of that tournament sometime in late 2011 - but who does he fight in the meantime???
You clearly a casual fan who tuned in at the beginnign of the super six. Ward was none- existent before the Kessler fight. Bute on the other hand has meet several good fighters. Was Kessler a bigger win than Andrade? Yes, of course, but one fight doesn't make Ward jump straight to no. 1 (no matter how big) - he needs to show at least a little consistency at this level. And middle-weight Miranda is useless in this discussion.
