I know every board choose the fighters - but if you take Froch in - you have to be fair to the guy....................#5 is a disgrace..:-(

Yeah but loyalty seems to matter for these organizations. For example they get butthurt if one fights for the other title they get dropped out of top10 for a long period of time.

You also gotta look from the other side of the problem to, Froch has got many chances at the WBA and WBC. You have to give young fighters like Edwin Rodriguez (who I think is overrated) Oosthuizen or Grooves they can turn to be the next big thing. You never know until you test them.

Also Froch being the IBF Mandatory is more than generous. He's coming out of a loss.

    Mendy, for example.

He ended a fight unconscious, FLAT OUT.. and became mandatory.
Lucy ended a fight punked and jelly-legged by a mummy and held onto the belt.

    Just IBF routine, afaik.

Fair DQ win in an eliminator.

And Lucy also won fair against Andrade. Timekeeper ****ed up though.

Kind of like Andre Dirrell, who also ended a fight unconscious, FLAT OUT... against Abraham. :deal

If my memory serves me, Mendy was felled under a barrage of shots from Bika. While he was down, BIka threw a viscous L hook that rendered him completely out. I had the round near even before the foul, going Bika's way.

Bika would have likely finished Mendy off had he not fouled so indiscriminately. It was an eliminator. He was DQd, and the winner, who happened to have been KD'd and fouled and KOd, got the title shot.

Really, this speaks more to Mendy's needing a step up fight before jumping into a fight for a title. He should have come along less quickly vs less devastating fighters. But, we see where it got him.....back to back KO losses and no prospects on the horizon.

That is unless maybe Tony Dirrel could coax him into allowing his head to be used as a heavy bag. Would be a big win for either.:deal

The Dog Dirrell would absolutely spank your hero, if he ever gave him the chance. But then again, Bute only ever fights bums who are beat before they even reach the Canadian border.

    Puff.
