Ask Froch if he's ready for a fight early July. After a knock down and a hard defense, he won't come back until late August or September. Froch has also another mandatory to make, remember? He's not available. Bute cannot fight Froch because he's not available. Is it clear enough? Anyway, if Green, who is ranked 14th in the IBF, is an easy fight, what about Jean Pascal who supposedly was a tough fight for Froch. He's ranked 13th in the IBF rankings. That means you think Bute gets rid easily of a fighter in the same class of another who gave a hard time to Froch. You're telling us that Bute is better than Froch. Well, thank you.

Wait till you see Froch's next opponent.
    It will be Karo Murat.

How long ago was that fight now? Like 3 or 4 years ago? And a lot has happened to Green since then.

That said, Green has never looked that impressive except in the fights where he's blasting out his opponents. He has a lot of bad habits, and he seems to have trouble being aggressive.

I would think that negotiations shouldn't be too complicated. Although Froch is now the flavor of the month, in Montreal Bute is the draw. Froch doesn't have much of a fan base in Britain and couldn't even get on television. Montreal is obviously the best location and Bute is virtually guaranteed to fill the Bell Center. They spit the purse down the middle and sign on the dotted line. July or August or September should be easy.

I can't speak for boo, of course, but for me, the main reason I keep bringing that up is that fight showed me he would have a ton of trouble against a good southpaw. Of course he could've just had an off night, but it looked to me like a deeper problem than that. Since then, I've been waiting for him to fight a decent southpaw to see if it was a fluke or if there was something to it. He fought a shopworn, to say the least, Carl Daniels, but other than those guys, I don't think he's faced any southpaws in his pro career.

It's possible that Green could've improved upon that little Achilles' heel with the right sparring partners, but as it stands, I think Bute's going to take Green out of his comfort zone and absolutely pick him apart. Green won't go down without a fight though, so it should still be an entertaining scrap should it happen.

Ya -- in boxing years Green/Linton was a life time ago, but that decision really stuck in my craw. I have to give Green credit for calling Bute out the way he did. That was old school bad ass.

The truth is that Green can be quite poor at times but also really impressive at other times, but against whom? Crappy opposition. We just don't know how good he is, because he's never fought anyone, except Miranda, and that was when he was almost dieing or something...

In my view, he doesn't deserve a title shot. He should at least be beating a Top 15 fighter before getting a title shot.
