Why did the ref keep counting after Bute was on his feet then ?
Bell didn't ring until the ref "re-started" the fight, time keeper fault ?

He was. You are correct. But the ref still had discretion to stop it and even indicated in the post fight interview that he was going to do so until he got into that nonsense with Andrade. The ref may not have known where the round was at that point.:smoke:smoke

You are letting your emotions jade your opinion. believe me, it's understandable though. I have done it countless times.

BUT... bottom line is that Bute did beat the count (any count) and was up when the fight legally ended, according to the rules. Doesn't matter how fucced up he was. If there was 10 more seconds in that fight he would have lost. But, there wasn't.

Right, it's no different than any other round. If the knockdown had occurred at the end of the 11th, and Bute had to go to his corner, but instead, collapsed, the fight would have been stopped. Just because the time ran out on the bout, and Bute doesn't have to move anywhere, doesn't mean he gets a free pass . Andrade should protest this decision.

Yep exactly, the time keeper was not aware of the IBF rules. He was waiting for the ref to call the fight.

If the fight is over when Bute stands, time keeper or not, why did the ref keep counting ?

Taylor? He got up at the count of 3-4 if I recall correctly and was in easily better condition than the stumbling, out on his feet Bute. Have you even seen the fight?

so the rules say there's an exception in the 12th round, even though he cant be saved by the bell in any round?

    :conf

If a fighter is hurt badly and knocked down in the 12th. Goes down, and is able to get to his feet before the count of 10, although he cant really stand without the aid of the ropes and is clearly in no condition to defend himself or continue, he still gets the win?

show me that rule. If that **** happened 1 round earlier the fight could have justifiably been stopped. Why different for the 12th?

I can't make it clearer than copy-pasting the rule word by word out of the rulebook, can I?

Bell came later. In your opinion the fight is over when Bute is on his feet, but neither ref or time keeper knows this ? IBF needs to inform them, don't you think ?

Agreed. If the fight is over when Bute stands up, why does the refree count, and the bell not ring ? Somethings rotten in the state of Denmark
