Bute called out Kessler. Got turned down. Called out Pavlik got turned down.....

Bute would not have had the lion's part. The TV rights here are very small, the gate gives at most 2,5 millions, that includes all the card, the promo, the promoter's cut, etc. Bute even said he was willing to receive less money to make that fight.

Anyway, Sauerland chose the easier way even before he received the offer from Interbox. He also said he would make a counter-offer, he never did. In fact, he never answered to Interbox, period.

Don't try to put that around, Bat, Bute tried to make the fight, Kessler's camp did not. End of story.

 

So that is probably why bute cannot close fight negotiations with top guys - because he has little financial backbone in Canada.

 

The channel keeps a good amount of it, the promoter also. I t doesn't leave much for Bute. Also, we don't know if Kessler had only the Danish TV rights. It was not clear who had the European rights.

 

I' put that the other way. Kessler is able to make a fortune in fighting guys like Bouadla. I'm not sure it's a good thing. The European market is crazy and that is not good for boxing. Three millions is a very big purse. That should be enough, especially when the fighter proclaimed he would kick the other guy ass in his hometown.

The article said only danish ppv. Not even the scandinavian rights was to go to Kessler.

Sending such a low-ball offer is a way to say that you dont really want the fight.

 

Anyway...the fact is Kessler turned down 750k guarenteed...do you think he''ll make that or more $$$ guaranteed with Stieglitz???...even Bat said that Bute wasnt worth the risk with that cash table...Mikkel had a plan and I think it's better for him like this...but don't spit on Bute's face cuz of that

 

That would probably mean 1.5M for Bute-Kessler. Not bad.

If Sauerlands counteroffer for a fight in Copenhagen was infact the same as Interbox offered for a fight in Montreal, Bute would have had a career payday with about 2.3M.

 

3 millions is not a low-ball offer. If Sauerland had the slimmest intention to make the fight, he would have negociated and got more than that. He had absolutely no intention.

 

That was not the TV rights. That is the whole pay Bute got for those fights.

 

I doubt Stieglitz will make it to PPV so it'll be public service money which is smaller obviously. On the other hand the gate will be significant in Denmark and that revenue would go to Kessler by some big percentage and that would be money that Kessler would not see if he fought in Montreal.

 

Let's look at what the. 'offer ' really was.

First let us agree that team Kessler usually has the tv rights worldwide when he fights.

Now team bute says... you know what? if you give me the worldwide rights I will give you 750k in return.

From kesslers point of view he lost the worldwide rights for 750.000. So Bute is trying to use the fact that Kessler is good at attracting money in his home market and spinning that as if that is an 'offer ' from bute.

Ill give you the money you earn yourself in your home market... but only if i can fight at home!

That is some twilight stuff...
