The Super 6 is coming to the last round, some guys will be off. I don't give a **** if some fights aren't as big as a fight vs. Pascal. WTF do I care? I'm just saying that the notion that Bute MUST fight Pascal next is bull****. And quit the legacy talk too. Just because it isn't happening NOW, doesn't mean it won't. He can stick around at 168, fight guys from the Super 6, and STILL have a great legacy if he never fought Pascal at 175 next.
Bute fought at LHW at the beginning of his career, when he was fighting 4 or 5 times a year. He didn't had time to weightdrain. Since, he's at 168. He's a big SMW but would be 5 pounds lighter without on some muscles for a fight at 175. Goinig down after that would not be easy as you think.
it may very well be that whoever is the first guy out of the S6 besides Green will either take a long vacation or fight a soft touch, having come off 3 major fights. So Bute may be sitting by idly for a long time. Good that you've lined up all the potential excuses for him.
WTF do you care? Why in the hell wouldn't you want to see the Pascal fight? It's a huge fight, one of the best that can be made in boxing, that's why you should care.:deal Sometimes I just don't understand your logic.:-( So what if no one drops out of the super 6 even the losers, then what? Who in the hell is he going to fight?
Pascal's promotor knows very well Bute's team wouldn't accept right away. Bute has a fight ahead of him, he has plans for the afterwards. Pascal has already made an offer to Hopkins...Both Interbox and Gym know that the fight will be bigger if they wait (Dawson could ruin their plans if he wins the rematch). But you're right, Bute is carefully matched.
Fought one of the dumbest fights I've seen since Ortiz did against Maidana. With that said you can't take anything away from Pascal and his fans, they all proved me wrong.
WHy should I care if it's the boiggest fight in Canada? I don't get a ****in dime, that's why. And read what I said again, I'm not saying they should NOT fight, I'm saying the need for it to happen RIGHT NOW is not necessary. You guys talk about legacy as if it comes and goes with each fight. Chances are Bute will fight the top guys at 168 and probably Pascal eventually. So why do I need to cry about it not happening now? I don't, you can do that.
If you had followed Bute's career, you would know he had faced very strong guys very early in his career. He was not a coward then, I don't think he is one now. There's a thing called business you should try to learn. That helps to understand many things in boxing. Reality may be more complex than "He's a coward". You may not be able to catch that level though.
Yup you are right. What a dumb fight he fought. He had all the tools going into the fight and the ring smarts were at an all time low for him. Pascal is good but it seemed everyone outside of Canada was laughing when he said he is going to invade the US. Guy should slow his roll he ain't all that.
I think it should happen now too! I think it will never be as big as this again, from a hard-core boxing fan's point of view, but for a reason that might displease you: I think Pascal will never be thought of as highly as he is now... because, for one, Dawson will probably beat him in the rematch. As a big Bute fan, I'd want him to get most credit for beating Pascal, and that would be now... ...but in terms of money made, there would most likely be more money in it in a few years' time, even if either Bute's or Pascal's stock goes down a bit... so from a casual boxing fan's point of view - and they are the ones making most of the buys - the fight will be bigger in a few years' time.
Also, I'm not sure I buy this: if I go up, I change my training regime and then it's very hard for me to come back down because I've put too much muscle on... ...surely your body doesn't change that much because you've put on 7lbs of muscle on... not when you are Bute's size. Why can you not lose that muscle simply by not doing weight-training exercises in the next training camp? Is Bute so finely tuned at 168 lbs that the slightest change of training regime would have lasting consequences on his ability to make 168lbs in 6 months' time? Perhaps someone who knows about these things could enlighten us...
