True, but Lewis was always in control of that fight, he wasn't getting hammered like Bute was, he lost because he got caught by a shot out of nowhere. Bute lost because he was taken apart and simply couldn't deal with Froch.

Froch's natural game is circling on the backfoot, using his jab to maintain distance and then when he sees openings he steps in with clusters of punches. That's when Carl is at his best. Bute is a counter puncher also who likes to his circle his opponent, draw leads and counter them. Against Froch his gameplan was terrible, immediately he was taken out of his comfort zone as Froch backed off and circled him, Bute was forced to lead and that's not his natural game. He struggled with Froch's reach, and couldn't actually figure out how to deal with Froch when he stepped in to attack. He couldn't keep him off and got beaten into submission. In a rematch, Froch is going to make Bute lead again, how is Bute going to outbox him for 12 rounds, and at the same time not get caught again himself?

Jab, straight left, circle. bute IS faster than Carl, he just needs to keep his hands up when he finishes his punches. Froch was very weary of Bute early on and it wasn't until Bute tried being cute that Froch started to land. Stay focused and he wins.

I felt Rahman was taking over mid way through the 3rd. Lewis was breathing very heavily and he looked to be out of his game.

Funnily enough,Turbotime is one of the few Bute fans who knows that boxing wasn't invented in 2003 when some Romanian travellers appeared at The Bell Centre one night when they thought they were attending A Celine Dion concert.

I actually feel quite guilty for saying that given that I like some of the hardcore Bute Crew.Must be going soft.

    Bygones.Happy to run with it.:D

Personally, I just don't see it happening. I don't think the rematch will happen, but if it does I guess we'll find out. Bute needs another 2 fights before though, I think he would be better suited going after Ward or Abraham if he wants to be champion again, Froch and Kessler would both knock him out IMO.

Lewis should have beaten Rahman in the first fight, and always had the tools to beat him,

Bute started off great... then quickly lost it due to his defence. Bute and his team obviously know what went wrong in granular detail. Truth be told, in Bute's Grachev fight, he was deliberately going to the ropes at times to practice defensive pressure fighting. It was in the game plan.... I know this for a fact.

Bute could've fought how he fought in the 12th from the get go.

The likelihood of the Froch rematch is 60% in my opinion regardless of the outcomes of Froch's next 1 or possibly 2 fights.

Froch gave Bute his biggest lesson in boxing and life that night. But it was a very valuable lesson in terms of boxing and the corrective measures are being put in place. I personally think he is much more comfortable more so than many fighters, fighting in Romania or Montreal.

I would like to see a rematch with a better prepared Bute, clearly knowing the danger, fighting from the heart and clearly realizing the gravity of the fight.

Froch may have started off slightly wary, but what would happen in a rematch? Do you think he would be wary? Would he ****. He would go right for him from the opening bell because he knows he can hurt him with every shot he lands and he knows he can knock him out.

So Bute does not just need to stay focused, he would have to be fighting off the back foot from the first bell and avoid being caught while still throwing enough to either slow Froch down or hurt him.

If this had been one monster punch that landed against the flow of the fight or a back and forth fight etc, I could see why a Bute fan might have more optimism for a rematch. But it wasn't. It was one sided from round 2 onwards and every time Froch landed Bute was shook. He looked like he was going to get him out of there several times before the round when he actually did.

And the thing with Froch is that he has a ****ing good chin. So it's not even like you can imagine that if Bute lands a good shot first it will alter the fight. I cannot believe anyone really gives him a chance. If they fight again, it will be a one sided thrashing again.

Some of you Bute fans must really have a dislike for Bute, wanting him to rematch Carl.

It's a pointless fight, when Bute has so many other big money options like Stevenson and Pascal. Why fight Froch again when it's so glaringly obvious Carl would knock him out again?
