 I just wanted to point that out. It's like Rico having Roy Jones as his signature pic.

Exactly, there is a reason that Hopkins has never been ko'd and his defence is not likely to just evaporate in this fight. Bute is not as good as hes being made out to be IMO, he would be found out in the Super 6 in the way Froch, Abraham and Kessler have been. hopkins would have a chance in this because Bute is a lot more like Pavlik than Calzaghe so stylistically Hopkins can cause him problems

I wonder if this fight's dead or if they're still negotiating?

Hopkins can be a hard man to deal with.

Isn't Brinkley still his mandatory? I am 100% sure Bute doesn't want to lose the belt in favor of fighting even Ray Robinson. That IBF title means a lot to him.

Yes that belt means a lot to him. He made a promise to his fans that he'll keep that belt 5 years .

They can easily give Brinkley some step aside money to make the Bute-Hopkins fight happen.

Would that be enough? Won't it be necessary to "bribe" IBF too at this stage?

If he is smart he would take step aside money for the next 5 years.

If ever they will fight, I expect a sharp decline in Bhop's boxing ability. He is nearing 50 and that age will start showing in this fight. Bhop has to accept that it is now time for him to retire from boxing.

I seriously doubt if Jesse would take step aside money. The man is a proud warrior who earned the right to fight, and he knows he earned it.
