Bute would be stupid not to exercise his rematch clause!

His stock will go down no more from another Froch loss than it did from that one and the fight will be a big earner. He has very few options right now. He will only be the opponet for big fighters from now on.

Unfortunetly he has been waiting to fight a top class fighter so long he has turned into a complete bottle job (he choked imo) and he would have little chance in a rematch against Froch but atleast he's getting payed on his home turf for a fight.

 

If he's serious about bouncing back, he'd be stupid to dive into the rematch straight away, in my opinion.

That was a career-shattering loss. He needs one or two confidence builders to get anywhere near back to where he was. Getting his ass whooped again infront of his own fans, could be the final nail in his coffin.

Rest, re-think and re-group would be my advise to him.

 

Just no. He has nothing left to prove here despite the fact that it makes commercial sense. I believe many will watch that fight either to see Bute destroyed once again, either in hope that he can come back. Nonetheless, people would definitely watch it (both have big fanbase).

I strongly disagree with the fact that he will be the opponent of big fighters from now on. Pavlik, Kessler don't even want to hear of him no more. Stieglitz maybe... but only for huge amounts in Germany. But before facing Stieglitz, who's not an easy task at all, he must face an Alan Green or rematch Bika IMO.

 

I mean, if he thinks he can win, he should.

I don't think anyone should knowingly walk into a massacre, just for the payday.

He can still fight tomato cans back in Canada for some bank

Froch has Bute's number,the rematch would have one of two outcomes......
1) Froch KO2
2) Froch UD 12 after Bute runs away for 12 rounds.

Butes soul was taken away by Froch on Saturday night,i'd be surprised if he fights anybody evenly remotely talented anytime soon.

 

I think Bute would take 1-2 contenders then take the rematch.

Froch destroyed Bute in a match that was supposed to be close. It was a beating it could have been stopped earlier if the ref had wanted to

Bute will need to regroup and he would be mad to go straight into a rematch, he needs a few wins over tuff but limited opponents (although his CV has loads of these already) and then see if he can go again

Bute came into the ring with all the confidence in the world, having stopped 8 of his last 10. In a rematch, his confidence would be at an all time low, fighting a guy who walked through his punches, and knocked his stupid.

If, and that is a big if, a rematch is held, Bute should have at least 1 tune up fight

 

Personally speaking I think Bute will avoid a rematch for the moment. It may well happen in the future but not this year IMHO. Being taken apart like that (nobody would have complained if the fight had been stopped in the 4th) will definitely have shaken his self-belief and some fights against other good opponents is likely the way he will go. There is no question that Froch would take a rematch, he seems to take any fight that is put his way, let alone a guy he would be confident of beating again.

Ultimately, I hope they do fight again. Bute needs to up his game and learn from the loss, I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

 

Bute will bounce back. Taking the rematch is definitely a very risky move that can pay off aswell. Bute has a good future if still strong definitely take a rematch clause, Depending how he can this recent lose.
