What are you talking about? Noone says Bute should fight Bika AGAIN!

Wake up. Bika is not an option. Been there done that.

Andrade-Bika would be a fight I would want to see for sure!

I do give Bika the award for best excuse for losing a fight that year.

The culprit? He didn't know he couldn't swim and almost drowned in a hotel swimming pool before the fight.

green, miranda stieglitz winner, mundine, sturm, Stevens, Sartison...

I think that would be some of his next fight.. maybe pavlik or williams, dawson or pascall later...

People say the super six is bad for bute, i disagree...

He makes big money fighting lesser opponents anyway... And the only thing he has to do is win these fights the next 2 years and he is quarenteed a VERY BIG fight against the winner of the super 6

Bute could fight @ 175 and then go back to 168 without much of a problem. He's a pretty big SMW. Maybe fight the Dawson/Pascal winner if they have a fight. That would make a fight between Bute and one of them for the WBC 175 title.

Fighting here in the states against Dawson wouldn't make much sense though financially. It would be better for Dawson to go to Canada and fight Bute there if neither loses before that.

If Dawson and Pascal cannot agree on a fight then he should definitely go after Pascal for the title @ 175. They could easily meet somewhere in the middle on the weight I think.

Pavlik will not fight Bute, unless they (Top Rank) figure they better cash him out. A guy as big as Bute who can box like he does is a very bad style match-up for Pavlik.

Bute should sit back & let the 168lbs unfold.. (Take a rest)
Maybe make a challenge to Calzaghe see if he bites?
    (Why not)

The best for him would be to fight Stiegliz (who has a belt), if not then Green, Pavlik or Williams if they are willing to come up in weight.

I think there are massive options - just not straight away. he should keep busy and blow away whomever the IBF have ranked. we don't want an IBF mandatory to get in the way of a good fight.

HBO seem to want bute v pavlik and this is a great start, the middleweight champ. especially with options in super middle and light heavy. get the 160 champ out the way first.

168 - obviously the super 6 winner but that will take time. WBO champ won't want to unify and that title will probably be changing hands regularly.

175 - dawson says he can come down to 168, AND come to canada. that is giving away serious advantages. perhaps dawson's lack of marketability will truly become his undoing? the obvious ones are pascal and diaconu. basically pascal-diaconu 2 winner has to fight dawson (WBC mandatory), so bute has to see what's left - a great canadian rivalry or a top yank.

I agree that Bute could take an easy fight while waiting for the big fight.

But you know as well as I do that people will complain and say the he should be fighting this guy or this guy instead.

"The Super Six are fighting each other and Bute is fighting XXXXX."

    You know what I mean?

Never said he didn't, but it was 2 1/2 years ago, that was then and this is now, and Bika is still a tough customer...

Bute beat (well better say was saved by time and rules) Andrade in the first fight, still fought him again and this time won way better then people expected him to.

So what if Bute beat Bika in the first fight, maybe Bika KOs Bute in the second fight, who knows?

Anyway, Bika is the best SMW Bute could fight outside of the Super Six, so the excuse "already won once" doesn't count for me - imagine Frazier just said "already won once" and refused to fight Ali again...

If Bute wants to fight the best guys available, he should fight Bika again. If he wants to unify some belts, then he should fight the winner of Stieglitz-Miranda, and after that he can still fight the Super Six winner for all the belts, if he dares to of course :)

I hope he fights the winner of stieglitz-miranda. Then the winner of supersix and bute would unify all the titles..

Bika is already history in Bute book, it was a close fight but not enough to see a rematch. If he can just shut Allan big mouth Green in optionnal defense and take on the winner of stieglitz-miranda bout, I would be happy. Pavlik is a good option for the cash and the visibility but I really don't need to see Pavlik take another beating by a bigger man, Pavlik does not belong in the 168lbs.

i don't see anything wrong w/ bute v. stiegliz/miranda winner. a unification bout is never a horrible thing.
