the post really was trying to say, a guy with 19 world title fights,PPV main event, shouldnt be taken out with the punch that landed on him......i agree....big time fight, big time veteran, i think he just didnt want to fight........
I got nothing but respect for Calderon. The guy is past his best, and fighting guys who dwarf him, and going in with everyone knowing hes got almost no shot to win the rematch against the guy that stopped him in his last outting. Sure, he wont be remembered in the halls of warriors like Micky, Vargas, Corrales, ect... nor should he be, but Im not going to **** on a pro fighter whos past his best when he chooses the easy way out once he realises hes hopeless.
We all knew this was going to happen sooner than the first fight. Calderon is not the same fighter and is still is planning on fighting esp if he is still one of the few that can attract a crowd in those low weight classes. Not smart to take further punishment if he is still not planning on retiring. He rule minmum weight class and light flyweight for a long time by just simply being a pure boxer. Always was at a disadvantage when it came to size and by staying undefeated that long and having no power fighting the bigger guys is simply amazing... Calderon has my respect and more amazingly had people watching these low weight classes that are not very popular compare to other weight classes:good
