see your viewing the pizzaz and the flash as a once in a generation's talent. look at the other stuff. his speed, Adaptability, Mental toughness, Ring IQ, Workrate, Power (when hands weren't brittle), His fighter Mentality, chin, Heart, and most of all Confidence. Not alot of fighters have that package. so yes he is . im not saying that p4p he's no 1 atg but at the time he retired alot of people had him at no 1 or 2.

Correct. But one could argue that in relation to Calzaghe, the number on ESB is disproportionate.

I never said or suggested that he was, friend. In fact, he's probably one of the top ten fighters of his generation.

Calzaghe fans are akin to George Bush fans. They like incompetence because it represents themselves.

Calzaghe was an OK fighter, but like the Klits, he has NEVER fought and defeated a prime ATG or elite fighter in his entire career. There is no greatest in that FACT.

I think he was at number 4 P4P when he retired, and that seemed about right. He was very good. But I just don't see what you see. At his best, perhaps he did have elite skills, when his hands weren't brittle. But that's part of boxing.

That's just wrong. If Calzaghe was a president he'd be Bill Clinton--very talented, but never a top guy because he never had to deal with a major crisis or war (elite opponent). He certainly wouldn't be George Bush. Chris Arreloa would be George Bush. :D

Funny thing, prime ATGs don't actually get defeated all that often.

you couldnt get a much better post than this to prove why crackzaghe fans are detested by pretty much anyone. because not only do they think beating a bunch of pensioners can solidify p4p greatness, but they see him as this immortal white god that has conquered all of their imaginary race wars they so pathetically conjured up from years of insecurity feeling inferior to people of color. but no junior, thats far from being the case. calazaghe was a great fighter no doubt, but his career as far as im concerened is nothing but smoke and mirrors. not only has he fought no one in their prime but he looked **** doing so in the process. he went life and death with a 44 year old hopkins and im supposed to believe he couldve beat him in his prime? pure comedy. and for the record im black and im a huge fan of lucian bute, michael katsidis, denis botsov, saul alvarez, and many others. sorry man, no dice.

One post misguided post doesn't prove anything. But I agree that Calzaghe's resume is thin for a supposed atg.

I'm a Calzaghe fan but some are clearly annoying as hell.

I'm a Calzaghe fan, but you can only attempt to defend his achievements up to a point. But there are a good 3-4 of Calzaghe die hards who are very annoying when trying to have a debate.

:huh. no cal doesn't fight for race. and no nobody sees him winning as a victory for race. but i do see many urban african americans hate on him just like many Middle class whit americans hate on Pbf, RJJ, and other fighters. it is what it is. don't upset cuz i pointed it out. it's a fact if Joe was not white he would be herald .
