Mayweather has titles from 130-154.

Besides, beating Hopkins, Dawson, and Woods would not put Calzaghe above RJJ...

RJJ beat a better Hopkins, a better Woods, and did a more impressive thing by winning titles at 160,168,175, and Heavyweight.

Exactly. The style match-up is a bad one for Calzaghe and ideal for Hopkins.

woods is a vastly superior boxer today than what he was back when he fought RJJ. he has title fight experience and far better victorys on his resume.

secondly i think it's harsh on calzaghe to go "but oh look how many weights floyd jumped" when you consider joe can only go realistically to LHW. imagine what CW's like haye, cunningham, mormeck etc. would do to a SMW.

And Clinton Woods can BARELY squeak by Glen Johnson. Besides, Jones just completely wrecked him...

There is NO COMPARISON between RJJ and Calzaghe. I mean give me a break.

Roy Jones fought from 155-193...so don't talk about Calzaghe going to Cruiserweight as a huge deal. That's why RJJ is superior.

He did it. He fought and won from 155-193. JC won at 168, against lesser competition, in less impressive fashion.

No matter what he does, he will not be RJJ, and the JC fans just have to accept that.

 

Um...if PBF's titles are a sham because of weak opposition, what do you call JC's??? He fought MUCH lesser competition.

And Floyd beating DLH in a close decision...how does that rate to beating Robin Reid by a close and arguable decision???

Number 5 is fine, number 1 is outrageous...

I don't think Floyd has fought all-time great competition, but he's fought better than JC has. Between that, and the multiple weight division titles, PBF has the superior resume. Also, bear in mind that Floyd is about 5 or 6 years younger...

joe wasn't blessed with RJJ's KO ability but he has only dropped serious rounds where he endangered the outcome of the fight to reid and kessler.

The man was arguably the most dominant heavyweight of the 90s...a huge win over Tyson, his triology with Bowe, and wins over Foreman and Buster Douglas are huge imo...Its subjective so I know people may not feel like I feel about Holyfield in the 90s

All I am saying is:

It is ridiculous to claim a man who dominated a weak division while avoiding big fights for many of his prime years (1997-2006) could EVER be deemed the best fighter of a generation. That's just impossible.
