I don't want to see a rematch. These are the two best spoilers in boxing in the last 15 years. They are experts in making an opponent look bad. A fight between them will always be ugly.
I want B-Hop to fight Taylor or Dawson

Joe won and since the fight was in the US, Hopkins already had all the advantages.

If anything Joe should give Kessler a rematch in Europe. Kessler was a young fighter fighting abroad infront of one of the largest hostile crowds ever in boxing history. Kessler deserves a rematch.

The UK posters always make it incredibly obvious they have alot of bad misconceptions about the United States, how things work there, and how American fans regard UK fans and UK fighters. If 1 in 10 American fans has something bad to say - that's all you folks listen to, isn't it? Come off it. The blind nationalism coming from you guys is ****ing OFFENSIVE. You'll bypass any truth just to preach your biased propganda. There are no US advantages. You want to talk about advantages - Joe Calzaghe had EVERY advantage being the 'White' fighter - particularly after the comment Hopkins made regarding "White boys." CALZAGHE HAD EVERY ADVANTAGE, LET'S GET CRYSTAL ON THAT. Enough with the BULL****.

In other words Calslappy only gives rematches when he knows it's an easy night. Story of his career really.

Reality is he knows that to anyone with a pair of functioning eyes he lost to Hopkins the first time and he wouldn't get a 'political' decision again, especially now Hopkins is back on the up after the Pavlik fight.

Joe would surely have the advantages if the fight was in Wales in front of 50.000 screaming fans. Hopkins and his corner would have to sleep in a hotel, eat food of the menu (which probably doesn't have the dishes they want and the money is different and they will go throuigh all the 3 pounds is that a lot or a little? and on and on), drive around trying to find the place to train etc. Ask where they enter the arena, since the accent is different they will not feel at home - not to mention jet-lag which will disappear after 1-2 weeks, but which will mean that one cannot train as effectviely as normal for that time. And so on and on.

Now the fight was in the US and Calzaghe had to cross the atlantic.

Hopkins had the advantages and I am NOT (only) talking about the referees, media etc. Joe's experience helped him overcome those things. But younger fighters can freeze or feel tired once the fight starts because they tense up leading up to the fight. They will feel mentally tired and without energy.

it is a split decision. If Calzaghe is a true champion like Mayweather he would give Bhop a rematch that could have gone other way. u have to be a gay joe fan to say bs like this. what kind of fan are u?

The thing is that in reality it was not a close fight. Bernard didn't win a single clear round (except round one which he didn't even win clearly outside of the KD). In Europe and most of the world outside of the US the fight is not seen as a close fight. The judge that didn't have Joe winning is seen as a bad seed that either was extremely biased or received a little extra cash that month.

Therefore there is no demand for a rematch based on any SD (because SD was only because of that one corrupt judge).

The only - ONLY - valid argument that works outside of the US would be that Hopkins somehow has improved since he reshuffled his team and therefore he is now better. IF Hopkins or his fans try to say their last fight was close - then Joe and 90% of none-Americans will just laugh and not take them seriously at all.

I'll give you the time change - even though Joe is accustomed to fighting in the middle of the night for US television - but Hopkins don't live in Vegas neither. He had to do everything Joe did.

Oh, I definately agree Calzaghe would have major advantages in Wales. More than likely unfair advantages - concerning the referee primarily. The UK refs don't want their homes fire bombed for making a call in favor of Yank now..

Save it. Hopkins WON on my scorecard. I follow the Lederman rule even though that HBO Nazi himself doesn't; "95% of scoring is clean and effective punching."

Not only does Hopkins not live in Las Vegas(I doubt some of these Brits realize how far Delaware is from Vegas), but Calzaghe didn't stay in a hotel. He stayed in a house in an upscale neighborhood. He wasn't the least bit inconvineinced.

Defintely some UK bias in this thread. Joe would get a huge payday, it would be on his terms in his backyard. It would add to his legacy and he would earn even more respect.

Everything about this rematch would favor Joe, but he doesn't want it. There is a reason for that.

Anyone who thinks that JC won that fight easily and that it wasnt close is blind, cannot score a fight.

A rematch here is warranted and deserved. There would be plenty of interest and this fight would be easy to make. Hopkins was calling for it.
