man November is gonna be a crazy Month! Hayes vs a top 10 heavy, Hatton vs Mallignaggi, Calzaghe vs Jones Jnr.
i knew this thread would turn into this .a cou-ple of internet twats who cant get over something and then move on .
all i said was i think jones will win, i think hes trully a better fighter than joe. i think hes too clever for joe, even if he is shot i still think hell take care of joe... joes 35 and roy 39..... joes probably past his best
its not like roys facing an incredibly talented fighter is it, hes facing a fighter who slaps for 12 rounds calzaghes style is made for jones i think..... if your confident joe wiil win put money on it, i aint trying to argue
This isn't particularly good for those fans who have already booked expensive flights and accommodation; there was an advertisement for fight tickets on here yesterday. Most fighters refuse to cancel fights eg. Hatton was given the option to cancel his last fight due to flue, but refused to, "because of the fans", and fought through it. Yes laugh all you like, take the p1ss, but the simple fact is that some fighters do actually think beyond themselves...
There's a big difference between having a runny nose and breaking a hand(if that is the case) especially when it comes to boxing.
I was speaking in general, that was just a recent example. Boxers generally don't cancel unless your arms hanging off like Judah. Floyd has bad hands, and doesn't cancel, many boxers have bad hands... Do you honestly believe he's broken his hand anyway? RJJ refused to answer further questions... If I'd booked flights, and accommodation (perhaps now lost money); I'd be a little peeved. They were advertising tickets for sale on here yesterday, in fact they still are... anyone buying tickets and booking flights before calzaghe and his team have actually confirmed the date and venue know full well the risks they are taking.
This is just typical JC really. Nothings ever clear cut, with plenty of smoke & mirrors. I think his impending retirement will be a massively good thing for boxing along with De La Hoya. We need to be left with people who actually want to fight & are prepared to take risks. There are plenty of fighters like that out there. Other fighters that need to retire are Ruiz & Golota. Hopefully that freak will put a career ender on The Quietman.
This has happened on more than one occasion - so the more cynical individuals among us will suspect foul play. I am not so sure, to be honest.
I don't suspect foul play, it's just more nauseous shenanigans from JC. The like of which we have seen repetitively throughout his career. It's become less & less tolerable as the years have gone by until the time I will celebrate his retirement.
It's not the training it's just a weakness that has been there most of his life. He was actually advised not to turn professional by doctors when he was younger.
Dan... I think you're overstepping the mark here mate. Joe has never, at any stage come out and announced that this fight would take place on 20th September at MSG. I have HELD a load of flight for myself and others for whenever this fight was signed and official. There's no way I'm purchasing a load of flights and hotels when there's nothing actually signed... i.e. I knew that the date announced by ROY JONES was not actually done and dusted and the venue wasn't even booked. Why are these nauseous shenanigans when it hasn't been agreed in the first place? I'm sure you'll celebrate his retirement sadly, but I think you're wrong about this. I'm sure this isn't Joe's fault this time.
