yeah, I gotta say, his record leaves much to be desired. He was no doubt skilled, but his career was carefully planned.. can't hate on the guy for it, but he doesn't deserve any amount of credit over the greats like Hopkins etc

Lol at Calzaghe NUTHUGGERS hyping up Jeff Lacy as some GREAT win.... Guess what, limeys......Jermain Taylor DESTROYED Jeff Lacy 12-0 too. Lacy is a decent fighter but he has no defense and has little skill. When Lacy fought elite boxers (Calslappy and Taylor), he got DOMINATED. Stop hyping that **** up..or else maybe we gotta start giving Taylor some more credit too because he pretty much beat the crap out of Lacy.

And Calzaghe lost the Hopkins...he might've thrown more punches...but so the **** what? His SLAPS missed....means **** if it doesnt land.....Hopkins was landing the CLEANER shots all night. Everytime I score that fight, I just don't see a Calslappy win...he didn't do **** the first 5 rounds....I'm sorry MISSING pathetic amateur slaps doesn't count. he might've won the 6th...lost the 7th because he got rocked at the end....he had a good 9th......he lost that fight.

Kessler is by far his best win.

And Lol at Calslappy nutlickers hyping up a win over RJJ? Are you ****ing serious...he got dropped in that fight and got hit clean more than Glen Johnson and Tarver got hit...and they KNOCKED Jones the **** out....just about any top fighter around Jones weight..would HANDLE Jones at this point...

I'm sorry....Morales, Pacquiao, Jones, Hopkins, Barrera, Marquez, Holyfield, Whitaker, Chavez..THESE are great fighters...please don't mention someone like Calsalppy with them. Calslappy is a very good champion...but falls short of being great...it's just that he's nuthuggers think he's some kind of legend...lol..the names I listed above are the greats.

Prime Jones beat Hopkins. Calslappy didn't. One TRULY won the fight (Jones) the other got a gift (Caslappy)

Those punches shouldnt have counted. Really you'd expect someone who got hit 232 times to have a mark on him.

I'm sorry but this whole he landed more than Roy Jones did on Hopkins is pure BS.....when Roy was landing punches I was actually seeing them land! I didn't see many clean punches of Calslappy land on Hopkins....and for sure he did NOT land 230 punches. Thats just total BS lol....

    ***PIFFLE***

please overlook ones air of nonchalance today, you see it is habitual and comes from an innate sense of security with regards to my belief in calzaghe as a fighter and the shady ground his detractors seem to inherit..

advice for thread starter:i suggest you wipe away your tears dear,it is very uncouth to wallow in ones own bitterness,i assumed the penitentiaries only allow 30 mins recreation time daily, maybe it would be a little more productive if one spent more time focusing on ones parole rather than posting shite calzaghe threads which allude only too your stupidity and denial and those things alone!

    simpleton.

I don't agree. Anyone with that amount of title fights is great. If he were not great someone would have exploited a weakness. Roy Jones Jr. was not a shell of a fighter when he fought Joe. Roy is still fighting and will beat Lacy, Roy just handpicks guys he can beat. That is why he never fought great guys before, he would have lost like he did to Calzaghe. Calzaghe was just better than night. Nevertheless when Roy keeps fighting and winning people will see how Calzaghe was good. Calzaghe also beat a very good Hopkins. Too bad Calzaghe were not in the tournament. My question is, if Kessler wins the tournament, will people give Calzaghe credit for beating him?

I think Joe Calzaghe was very overrated, and not only because of his weak resume and such, but because of the evidence of his fights. The guy really impressed me in the second half of the Kessler fight. Other than that, I was never blown away by him. Good fighter, but not great IMO. Nowhere even close to the skill level of Jones, Hopkins or Toney.

I'm good mate, I was pretty busy for some months (much work and some family issues), but now things are alright.

What about you and your disappearance??? And what about the "overlord" comeback? :blood
