I genuinely believe this to be a 50/50 contest and would love to have seen it if possible. Calzaghe definitely has the better engine, faster hands and very underrated skill. Ward is an exceptional fighter. I really don't want to call who wins it.
Your argument was that the three judges saw it your way so it doesn't matter what the majority of people think. So I'll ask you again, do you deny robberies have occurred in boxing?
Canelo fans are obsessed with Golovkin as they know they're in the minority in scoring those fights for him. It bothers them that other people don't adore them as they do and they end up dragging his name into random threads about two other boxers having a hypothetical fight at a weight class above the one in which he has held titles.
Ward was more proven against better opposition at both weights. You need a genius-Level IQ to slow Joe down, if you lack the power. Ward had that. Ward makes him pay.
Something else I think is interesting between the two is barring the Kessler fight - and Kovalev with certain people - Ward has always been seen as a safe pick whereas people tended to pick against Calzaghe in his biggest fights from what I can gather.
Remember when Ward categorically refused to allow neutral judges for the rematch after his three home country judges had stole all Kovalev's belts off of him in the first fight. Yeah you read that right. Neutral judges.
